How did you get started Bodybuilding?
I entered the Miami Pro World Championships in April of this year where I placed 2nd in my category. After that I decided I wanted to compete again and continue on with the fitness model/bodybuilding lifestyle. Prior to competing I have been lifting weights for quite a while. I was 14 I think when I first started.
What motivates you, where does your motivation come from?
I want to make improvements in my physique, my body is very responsive to diet and training, so I see improvements frequently. It is very rewarding when I train hard and eat well. So I’m mainly motivated on a personal level. However I see other fitness models and bodybuilders and I want to have a superior physique to them.
How are you feeling going into your first competition?
I am very excited about the WBFF European Championships. It will be the first time the WBFF has held a show in the UK. It will in fact be my second competition.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
Below are my current training splits. I will have a rep range of 8-12 reps, this prevents me doing fewer reps than I am capable of.
What is your typical diet like?
My diet is pretty clean, but after a photo shoot or competition I will enjoy my food somewhat. My diet consists mainly of healthy foods such as chicken, eggs and brown rice.. When I’m dieting I cut out bread completely, I find it bloats me a lot and so I lose definition in my mid-section. Below is an average day when eating clean.
Breakfast: Gluten-free porridge for breakfast with manuka honey, blueberries a banana, 10 egg whites , 2 egg yolks, V12 protein shot
Meal 2: Steak, brown rice and asparagus
Lunch: chicken, sweet potato, broccoli
Post Workout: V12 protein shot
Dinner: turkey, spinach
Before bed: cottage cheese
What is your favourite moment so far in fitness?
Having a photo shoot in Barbados recently. It was a pretty spectacular location.
Do you bulk and cut or stay lean year around?
I stay relatively lean year round but I do as I have mentioned enjoy my food more and I don’t do quite as much cardio when I am long way out from a competition or photo shoot.
