Name: Laura Renee Calderon
Weight: 125 lbs
How did you get started with Fitness/Bodybuilding?
I really started getting serious about training when I was 21, I was preparing for Phoenix Fashion Week to walk in a show and my trainer suggested I try a bikini competition. I was reluctant at first but I went on ahead and did it, and placed! So from there on out, I was addicted!
Where does your motivation come from? How do you stay motivated?
My motivation definitely comes from people, women especially. I look up to many women in the fitness industry and when another woman tells me that they look up to me, it really makes me want to work harder and be an even better athlete. I have my times where I loose my motivation, and that’s ok! Everyone will loose wind every now and again. I recognize why I am feeling unmotivated and I force myself to get out there and just do it! No one ever regrets a good workout, sometimes you have to push yourself just about in every aspect of life.
What does your typical workout look like?
I do around 45mins-1 hr of cardio, 6 days a week. Then i lift 2-3 body parts 5 days a week, my lifting sessions last about 1 hour. When i lift, i mainly focus on lifting heavy with low reps.
What is your typical diet like?
Very lean! I eat a balanced diet of protein, carbs, veggies and fats. It really changes from day to day, depending on how i feel and activity level. I love Orange Roughy, salmon and Steak for protein. My favorite carb is sweet potato and i love almonds for fats.

Winning my Ifbb Pro card is definitely my proudest moment. It is such an honor and a memorable feeling. I worked so hard and was rewarded for that hard work. When I think back on that moment, I cant help but smile.

Squats!! They will literally change your booty!!
Lunges- It adds a nice shape to your quads and thighs.
Shoulder Press- i think nice shoulders on a woman is very sexy and athletic looking, and nice shoulders makes your waist appear smaller too.
How long do you spend in the gym during a typical workout?
I spend an 1 hour and 45 min. I like to get in and get out.
What are your favorite pre and post workout meals?
I like having oats at least 2 hours before I lift…makes me feel stronger, I’m sure it is just in my head. Post is my favorite meal. Il have 4oz chicken, 1c spinach and 1/2 yam. Almost any meal is amazing post workout though.

“Key to success? Change the status quo. Raise your standards”
Have you had to face any roadblocks or obstacles on your journey and if so, how did you overcome them?
