Event One — Max Car Squat

The first event of the 2025 UK’s Strongest Man featured an interesting contraption, which allowed the athletes to perform a squat with a car loaded onto the mechanism. However, since the goal was to lift as much weight as possible, the organizers kept adding plates onto the machine in order to customize the lift for the athletes. In the end, the man with the heaviest one-rep max took the event win.

Paul Smith proved to be the greatest squatter in the lineup, locking out 330 kilograms (727.5 pounds) on his heaviest attempt. Consequently, he took the max points, getting a lead ahead of multiple athletes who tied in second-place.

Andrew Flynn, Chris Beetham, and Jacob Brooke found their limit on the squat to be 320 kilograms (705.5 pounds). So, they had to settle for second place, while also sharing the points that came with it.

  • Paul Smith — 330 kilograms
  • Andrew Flynn — 320 kilograms
  • Chris Beetham — 320 kilograms
  • Jacob Brooke — 320 kilograms
  • Dean Mason — 280 kilograms
  • William Jones — 250 kilograms
  • Jamie Nelson — 250 kilograms
  • Scott Fraser — No Lift

Event Two — Tire Flip

For the second event of the competition, the athletes faced a massive 350-kilogram (771.6-pound) Tire. They had to flip the implement nine times, attempting to finish the task in the shortest time possible. The time limit was set to 75 seconds.

Andrew Flynn displayed the perfect performance on the tire flip, going through the motion and transitions with impressive speeds. So, he only needed 32.52 seconds to reach the finish line. This was enough for Andrew to beat every other athlete and take his first event win.

Chris Beetham was another athlete who displayed an incredible level of physical readiness, putting the pressure on Flynn and finishing just 1.27 seconds after him. Paul Smith claimed third, being the only other athlete to complete the event in under 40 seconds.

  • Andrew Flynn — 32.52 seconds
  • Chris Beetham — 33.79 seconds
  • Paul Smith — 35.84 seconds
  • Jacob Brooke — 40.60 seconds
  • Scott Fraser — 41.16 seconds
  • William Jones — 41.88 seconds
  • Dean Mason — 44.09 seconds
  • Jamie Nelson — 45.92 seconds

Event Three — Incline Log Press

The third event brought quite a peculiar change to otherwise standard Strongman exercise. Specifically, the athletes performed the Log Press, but did so by leaning backwards on an incline bench. The weight was set to 150 kilograms (330.7 pounds), while the goal was to perform as many repetitions as possible in 75 seconds.

Demonstrating unbelievable upper body strength, Chris Beetham earned himself an event win at the 2025 UK’s Strongest Man. He locked out 10 reps and was the only man to break through into double digits. This also made him one of the favorites to take home the overall title with two events left.

Dean Mason emerged in second place with nine reps to his name, making up for a ninth-place finish from the tire flip. He was followed by Paul Smith in third, who accumulated seven reps in the given time limit.

  • Chris Beetham — 10 reps
  • Dean Mason — 9 reps
  • Paul Smith — 7 reps
  • Andrew Flynn — 5 reps
  • Jacob Brooke — 5 reps
  • Jamie Nelson — 4 reps
  • Scott Fraser — No Lift
  • William Jones — No Lift

Event Four — Deadlift Ladder

The 2025 UK’s Strongest Man continued with a deadlift event. Precisely, the event consisted of five separate deadlift barbells, where the weight progressively increased with each following one. It started off at 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds) and finished off with 380 kilograms (837.8 pounds). It was a timed event, meaning that the goal was to be as fast as possible.

With the deadlifts being set to such a high weight, only one man was able to fully complete the event. That man was Andrew Flynn, having finished all six deadlifts in just under 70 seconds. With this result, Andrew made a significant step in his title charge.

Dean Mason secured his second consecutive second-place finish, showing impressive speed and locking out four reps. Similar to the previous event, Paul Smith was once again in third place, as he was the fastest out of four men who performed three reps.

  • Andrew Flynn — 6 in 69.28 s
  • Dean Mason — 4 in 58.46 s
  • Paul Smith — 3 in 14.88 s
  • Chris Beetham — 3 in 28.15 s
  • William Jones — 3 in 33.09 s
  • Scott Fraser — 3 in 36.75 s
  • Jacob Brooke — 3 in 38.37 s
  • Jamie Nelson — 2 in 26.89 s

Event Five — Loading Race

The Loading Race closed out the 2025 UK’s Strongest Man competition. It consisted of five kegs, each weighing more than the previous one, which had to be picked up, carried, and loaded onto their respective platform. The weight of the kegs started at 90 kilograms (198.4 pounds) and ended at 130 kilograms (286.6 pounds).

What better way for Andrew Flynn to defend his lead than to win the final event as well. Having secured the maximum points, Andrew didn’t allow anyone to overtake him in the final moments of the competition, thus officially becoming the UK’s Strongest Man. His final time came out to 53.66 seconds.

Chris Beetham was just 0.5 points behind Andrew coming into the Loading Race. However, despite his intense efforts and a respectable time of 59.87 seconds, Chris had to settle for second place, both overall and in the final event. Paul Smith continued his streak of third-place finishes with a result of four kegs in 45.39 seconds.

  • Andrew Flynn — 5 in 53.66 s
  • Chris Beetham — 5 in 59.87 s
  • Paul Smith — 4 in 45.39 s
  • Dean Mason — 4 in 51.93 s
  • William Jones — 4 in 56.90 s
  • Jamie Nelson — 4 in 59.47 s
  • Jacob Brooke — 4 in 64.43 s
  • Scott Fraser — 3 in 35.00 s
