Natural Bodybuilding With JC: Gym Time Goodies

Justin Robertson

When it comes to my workout gear, I don’t travel light. I have more workout gear than I do regular clothes, more supplements than I do regular food, and more tools of trade than I do regular tools you would find in a toolbox. It is safe to say that I put more time and effort into making sure I am adequately equipped to workout at any time in any situation, rather than making sure I have enough money to pay my bills. Of all the wonderful goodies and toys that I have, I want to share with you my three favorites that I believe everybody should have.

    The Bicep Bomber

This awesome tool comes with me at all times. If I can’t get it to fit in my bag, it stays in the car. This set me back about $30. It is just as it seems – a durable brace/harness that ensures proper form and isolation for the biceps. I use it for both dumbbell curls and bar curls. It makes the lift more difficult and you will find that you need to decrease the weight a little from what you normally do – but it’s worth it. You will feel it with every rep.

    The Ab Roller

I picked one of these up for $10. I love this toy because it is so versatile and easy to carry around. It is a staple in my ab routine, but it is also good to have around for stretching and warming up. Its use is amazingly simple. You start on your knees hunched over as if on all fours with your arms straight up and down. You slowly roll forward until your stomach is just about on the ground, then you slowly roll back to the starting position. You can also roll to each side diagonally for added difficulty and to target the obliques.

My third tool is my most favorite of all. It is not so much a gym time goodie as it is a fitness enthusiast necessity. I am of course referring to my Six Pack Bag. The Six Pack Bag is the most amazing tool to hit the fitness industry.

If I am leaving the house for more than two hours at a time you can bet this thing is coming with me. It holds everything I need to get through the day. It comes in two different sizes, three-meal and five-meal. Pictured above is the five meal – but that only means five lunch boxes. I’ve managed to get fifteen meals into it to last me a two-day business trip. It has two large ice packs that slide into the sides and keep the item fridge cold all day. On one of my trips, I didn’t have access to a freezer so I just filled the empty lunch boxes with ice – it worked just as well. It has a massive pill tray on the top and can also hold four shaker cups. I have the five meal bag and it set me back about $100.

The lunch boxes it comes with are awesome. They have rubber seals in the lids and the lids also have four latches. These boxes don’t leak which makes them great to use even when the whole bag is not needed. This is why I consider it a gym bag goodie. You will always find a pre-made post workout meal in my gym bag safely secured a Six Pack lunch box.

Perhaps another time I will show you the full contents of my gym bag. From wraps, to straps, to gloves, grips, handles, candy, and supplement samples– you will find a veritable treasure chest of items. I even have three measured portions of three different protein powders in my bag.  I have to be prepared – and if I don’t need what is in there, I love offering their use to others that might benefit from them.

That’s me pictured when I’m at the gym.

Happy Lifting!
