A couple of days have passed since Eddie Hall’s spectacular MMA debut against Mariusz Pudzianowski. So, he has had some time to gather his thoughts and also think about his plans for the future. Well, Eddie has multiple options on the table, including a potential fight against Francis Ngannou. That being said, he decided to share his opinion on the matchup, admitting fear but still eyeing a showdown.
Eddie Hall impressed a lot of people with his TKO against the five-time World’s Strongest Man, Mariusz Pudzianowski. This put him in the spotlight, resulting in a lot of interest from multiple organizers and athletes who are looking to arrange a matchup.
Eddie Hall’s Plans For The Future
Eddie Hall’s plans for the upcoming few months are clear, as he plans to get back in the gym, along with some arm wrestling training. “So what’s next for me? Well, I’m actually going to get back in the gym. I haven’t touched any weights for 10 weeks, so I’m going to get back in the gym and get some muscles back on me, because I’m feeling a bit anorexic. I am doing an arm wrestle against Robert Oberst at the Shaw Classic in August. So, I’m going to get some arm wrestling training done and bulk up.”
Eddie Hall is also open to other options, especially when it comes to fighting. He explained that MMA suits him much better than boxing and that he enjoys the brutality of the sport. That being said, there have been some rumors of his potential matches against multiple people, with the most notable being Francis Ngannou.
“It all depends on if a fight promotion comes to me with a good enough deal. There’s been some talk of me fighting Francis Ngannou, and there’s been talk of me fighting Ben Rothwell, who’s the heavyweight bare-knuckle world champion. Like, just some insane things have been coming my way. Misfits have started some conversations. Dillon Danis, who’s the Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenomenon, you know, amazing, like best in the world, talks about me fighting him.”
Francis Ngannou built a name for himself in the UFC, where he held the title of Heavyweight Champion. He separated from the federation and moved over to the PFL, where he continues putting up amazing performances. Francis is easily one of the most powerful athletes in the history of MMA, harnessing devastating punching power capable of knocking out anyone. Considering this, it is no surprise that Eddie Hall is scared of getting in the octagon with him.
“Getting in the ring with Francis Ngannou—it scares the living s**t out of me. I’m 99% certain he will beat me. It’s that 1%, and I’ve got that 1%, having that power. You’ve got to land one shot and you’ve got it. Ben Rothwell, the bare-knuckle champion—again, scares the s**t out of me. But if the money’s right, I’d take any fight.”
Eddie Hall is also excited about some acting jobs that he has coming, as that is another passion of his. Moreover, he has had thoughts of pursuing sumo wrestling at a higher level, considering that he had one pleasant experience already.
“There are also movies as well. I’ve got a movie later this year, potentially with Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe. So I’m just waiting for some solid dates for that. That’s something I want to get more into—the acting side of things…
There’s been talk of me going into sumo wrestling. I had a skirmish with the British heavyweight and open champions—I beat them both. So there’s talk of me going and doing sumo wrestling in Japan with the World Championships.”
