Mark Wahlberg Celebrates 54th Birthday With Intense Legs & Core Workout

Actor Mark Wahlberg never misses a workout even during holidays. On June 5, 2025, he smashed a brutal legs and core workout in celebration of his 54th birthday.

Mark Wahlberg has maintained his fitness and health for years. He emerged as a star in the early 90s thanks to his contributions to the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, which is known for the hit single Good Vibrations. His success in the music industry helped him carve out a respectable career as an actor.

Wahlberg has built a reputation for transforming his physique for different movie roles. One role, in the acclaimed film Father Stu, demanded dramatic weight gain, which led him to eat a staggering 11,000 calories a day. While he admits the challenge wasn’t a fun one, there’s no denying the commitment and hard work he puts into assuming a character.

Discipline is a cornerstone of Wahlberg’s fitness journey. He follows an unbelievably strict schedule that involves waking up in the middle of the night for intense workouts. He’s become an integral part of what he calls the ‘4 a.m. club,’ where he invites friends to join him for workouts during odd hours of the night. Just by looking at Wahlberg, you wouldn’t assume he’s in his 50s; his longevity and youthfulness continue to keep fans in awe of his progress inside the gym.

Mark Wahlberg Crushes Leg and Core Workout for 54th Birthday: “Gifting Myself Today With Hard Work!!” 

In the recently uploaded Instagram reel, Wahlberg plowed through a handful of exercises that targeted his lower body, core, and back.

Wahlberg has redesigned his fitness plan with an emphasis on recovery. Two years ago, he stopped training seven days a week and routinely enjoys ice baths to soothe his sore muscles.  

Wahlberg isn’t the only high-profile actor keen on staying in shape into his 50s. Australian actor, Hugh Jackman, well known for playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, has also gone to great lengths to ensure he carries a low body fat percentage and a ripped physique. He recently showed off his biceps gains during his body transformation for his role in Deadpool 3. 

Even on his birthday, Wahlberg keeps the intensity as high as he possibly can inside the gym. He continues to show fans that with proper dieting, rest, recovery, and nutrition, it’s possible to hone an impressive physique into their 50s.
