The race to become the Mr. Olympia champion of 2024 is reaching new levels of intensity with the show taking over the Las Vegas Convention Center in 15 days. Recently, Martin Fitzwater appeared on the Bro Chat podcast on September 20, 2024, to offer his top 10 predictions in the Men’s Open division at the nearing extravaganza.
Last year, Derek Lunsford cemented himself as the world’s first two-division Mr. Olympia winner, having earned the 212 Olympia title in 2021, and then Open gold in a close encounter against his teammate and rival, Hadi Choopan. All eyes are on the rematch with some bodybuilding veterans siding with Lunsford while others such as Dennis James, siding with ‘The Persian Wolf.’
Bodybuilder Martin Fitzwater Gives Top 10 Open Picks for 2024 Mr. Olympia, Predicts Samson Dauda Wins
After winning the 2024 Detroit Pro, Fitzwater secured his entry for the biggest event of the year, which will mark his first time ever competing under the Olympia banner. Martin Fitzwater has also emerged on everyone’s radar thanks to his breakout performance against Nick Walker at Steve Weinberger’s annual New York Pro contest. While ‘The Martian’ didn’t get his hand raised, he gave ‘The Mutant’ a run for his money and then some.
With just under three weeks until the prestigious event is set to take over Las Vegas, Nevada, for its 60th anniversary, Martin Fitzwater shared his top ten predictions in the Men’s Open. Check out his picks down below.

‘The Martian’s’ Top 10 Men’s Open Picks

Fitzwater elaborated on his picks.
“I want Samson to win it. Then Hadi, then Derek,” shares Fitzwater. “I’m going to put myself in fourth. Andrew fifth. Hunter in sixth. Nick in seventh. Probably Bonac eighth.”
“Would you put Rafa at eighth and Bonac in ninth, I think that will be closer actually.”
“I think I’m going to give it to Akim. He looked very good at Toronto. He is [a freak]. He’s dense as a motherfucking house.”
With the 2024 Mr. Olympia fast approaching, Martin Fitzwater is just one of the many to have shared their predictions heading into the event. Previously, Dennis James, Milos Sarcev, and Justin Shier revealed their picks for the Men’s Open; all three agree that Hadi Choopan would emerge victorious this October 10-13.
Outside of the Men’s Open, former two-time Classic Physique Olympia champion, Breon Ansley, gave his thoughts on who would reign supreme in the Classic Physique division. It’s no surprise that Ansley sees himself taking the win and defeating the five-time champion Chris Bumstead.
