Gabi Garcia fought twice in July, and both fights ended in no contests.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, who landed a vicious illegal soccer kick in a Muay Thai fight earlier this month in Japan, returned to the MMA ring at Sunday’s RIZIN card at the Saitama Super Arena to face Oksana Gagloeva.
A former boxing heavyweight, Gagloeva was making her debut in MMA against the undefeated Garcia (4-0), but the bout only lasted 16 seconds. In the first exchange, Garcia accidentally poked her opponent in the eye, and she couldn’t continue.

“It was not (the tip of) my finger,” Garcia said. “I defended with an open hand but closed it for the punch. She has both eyes hurt. The doctors authorized her to come back but she didn’t want to. Coward.”
“You could see in her eyes that the show ‘ate’ her. She could have came back, but it was an easy way to run.”
Garcia, who remains undefeated in MMA with four wins and one no-contest, says the promotion is on her side and hopes to be back in action on an unannounced RIZIN card in October.
“Not with her,” Garcia said when asked if she’s interested in a rematch with Gagloeva. “She’s a coward. She ran. Scared.”
