The 2024 CrossFit Africa Semifinal was a part of the final batch of Semifinal competitions for this season, and it took place on May 31st – June 2nd at the Emerald Resort & Casino in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. Like all other competitions, it lasted for three days, featuring six events in the Individual division. So, when all points were added up, Ruan Potgieter and Gemma Rader were crowned winners.

The 2024 CrossFit Africa Semifinal has the lowest cumulative number of qualifying spots for the CrossFit Games across all seven competitions. Specifically, only the winner of each division (Men, Women, Teams) secured a spot in the season finale. That being said, this has been the case in previous years as well.

Women

Knowing that only the winner makes it through to the CrossFit Games incentivized the athletes in the women’s division to reach their limits. So, after everyone gave their all, Gemma Rader ended up being the winner. However, she outperformed Christina Livaditakis by just 6 points, which perfectly shows just how incredible their battle was.
