Event Recap

Truck Pull

The opening event of the 2024 Strongman Champions League Serbia was a Truck Pull, where the competitors were tasked with moving a vehicle that weighed 14,000 kilograms. The distance from the start to the finish line came out to 25 meters, while the time cap was 75 seconds.

The set distance for this event proved to be unreachable for any of the Strongmen, as the best performer was Kane Francis with a result of 4.6 meters. Everything seemed to start off well for him, but once the vehicle stopped, he could not make any significant progress.

The Turkish representative, Fatih Karaca, finished in second place with a result of 3.8 meters. On the other hand, the battle for third place came down to just 0.02 meters, with Ervin Toots getting the winning edge over Sami Ahola.

Farmer’s Carry

The second event of the day was the traditional Farmer’s Carry for Time. So, the athletes had to carry two 140-kilogram implements in their bare hands for a distance of 40 meters, with the ultimate goal being to finish faster than anyone else.

Evans Nana recently made his debut at the 2024 WSM, where his prowess for moving events surprised many. So, he excelled at the Farmer’s Carry, beating every other athlete by a margin of a few seconds. His ultimate result was 20.23 seconds.

Although Nana was comfortably first, the difference in results between all the other athletes was extremely tight. That being said, Kelvin de Ruiter finished in second place with a time of 24.29 seconds, while Fatih Karaca settled for third with 25.98 seconds.

  • Evans Nana — 20.23 seconds
  • Kelvin de Ruiter — 24.29 seconds

Car Deadlift

Marking the midway point of the 2024 Strongman Champions League Serbia, the Car Deadlift event presented an AMRAP challenge to the athletes. So, each of them had their attempt at performing as many reps as possible with a 350-kilogram deadlift. They had 60 seconds to do so, but were allowed to use lifting straps.

Carrying the momentum from the previous event, Evans Nana once again managed to top the leaderboards with 11 reps on the deadlift. However, two more men, Andrea Invernizzi and Kelvin de Ruiter, managed to lockout the same number of reps. So, seeing that no tiebreaker was put in place, all three men tied for first place.

  • Evans Nana — 11 reps
  • Andrea Invernizzi — 11 reps
  • Kelvin de Ruiter — 11 reps
  • Kane Francis — 10 reps
  • Kelin Mills — 10 reps
  • Hristo Muskov — 8 reps
  • Fatih Karaca — 6 reps
  • Colten Sloan — 6 reps
  • Péter Juhász — 6 reps
  • Ervin Toots — 1 rep
  • Sami Ahola — 1 rep

Front Hold

The penultimate event of the 2024 Strongman Champions League Serbia was the Front Hold. It turned out to be a true test of grit and endurance, as the athletes had to hold a 30-kilogram implement in front of them with completely straight arms for as long as possible.

The Front Hold definitely shook up the overall leaderboards since it featured some unexpected results. The one who benefited the most from it was Fatih Karaca. He won the event as the only man to last more than 40 seconds on the Front Hold.

Andrea Invernizzi finished in second place, as he held the implement for 36.12 seconds. So, the third place went to Colten Sloan, whose result came out to 35.31 seconds, less than one second behind Andrea.

Conan’s Wheel

Saving the best for last, the Conan’s Wheel event wrapped up the 2024 Strongman Champions League Serbia. Known as the most grueling event in Strongman, Conan’s Wheel tasked the athletes with a movement similar to a Zercher Carry. Moreover, the weight of the implement was 340 kilograms and the goal was to cover as much distance as possible.

Colten Sloan won the final event of the competition with a perfectly rounded result of 60 meters. This was an incredible display of strength and it helped Colten move up to the 7th place overall.

Ervin Toots was the second best performer on the Conan’s Wheel, managing to carry the implement for 52.5 meters.

Most importantly, Kane Francis managed to finish in third place on Conan’s Wheel, which helped him overtake Fatih Karaca overall in the final moments of the competition. Fatih was on course to win the competition overall, but finishing in last place during the Conan’s Wheel crushed his dreams.
