The first major CrossFit competition of the year is the 2024 TYR Wodapalooza Miami, which started on January 11th and spanned across four days. The first two days of the competition saw the Elite Individuals compete. Specifically, each of the men’s and women’s divisions consisted of 40 athletes, and they all took part in five events. In the end, Ricky Garard and Emma Cary came out victorious.
Both Ricky Garard and Emma Cary had a tight path toward victory at the 2024 TYR Wodapalooza Miami. Thus, Emma won the women’s division with a 6-point lead, while Ricky managed to fend off late title charges from Brent Fikowski and finished 19.5 points ahead of the Canadian.

Danielle Brandon took the win in the final event of the 2024 TYR Wodapalooza Miami with a time of just over eight minutes. However, an epic battle took place behind her as well, as Emma Carry and Gabriela Migala were fighting for the title. With just three points separating them before the final event, the title would go to whoever placed higher. Emma Carry ended up being 20 seconds faster and winning the competition.
