The other male representative was Austin Hatfield, who made a name for himself at the most recent CrossFit Games. He did so by winning two events, despite competing against some of the greatest athletes in the world.

Haley Adams was the sole women’s representative in the 2025 CrossFit Open Workout 25.1. She is recognized as one of the greatest female CrossFitters in recent years. She has won the 16-17 teenage division at the 2018 CrossFit Games and placed fifth in the Open division at the most recent edition of the Games.

The announcement of the 2025 CrossFit Open Workout 25.1 also featured a guest appearance of Rich Froning, who is arguably the greatest men’s CrossFit athlete ever. He is a 4x Fittest Man on Earth and a longtime competitor and champion in the Teams division.

  1. Austin Hatfield: 334 reps
  2. Rich Froning: 309 reps
  3. Roman Khrennikov: 305 reps
  4. Haley Adams: 261 reps

Austin Hatfield had a furious start, taking the lead after the first few reps with the goal of maintaining the pace for as long as possible. His incredible endurance proved to be enough for him to build a very comfortable lead over the course of 15 minutes, allowing him to beat the second-place finisher by 25 repetitions.

Roman Khrennikov matched Hatfield’s pace at the start of the workout but simply could not keep up after a while. Moreover, he was overtaken by Rich Froning, who had a bit of a slower start to his race. So, Roman ended up settling for third place with four reps less than Froning. In turn, Haley Adams ended up in fourth but still proceeded to put up a very competitive result of 261 repetitions.
