The 2025 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal took place on April 5-6 in Cookeville, Tennessee. It was the first in-person qualifying event for this year’s CrossFit Games, marking the beginning of the Semifinal stage. Spanning across two days, the competition featured five events, with Austin Hatfield and Feeroozeh Saghafi coming out victorious.

A total of four qualifying spots for the CrossFit Games were allocated to the 2025 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal. So, the top two ranking athletes in both the men’s and women’s divisions punched their ticket to the biggest competition of the season.

2025 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal Results

Men

Austin Hatfield stood on top of the men’s podium at the 2025 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal, having put up a phenomenal performance. He kicked off the competition with a win in event one but managed to secure another first-place finish in the third event later on. Apart from that, Austin never placed lower than sixth, leaving barely any room for anyone to catch up to him.

The winner of the 2025 CrossFit Open, Colten Mertens, was putting pressure on Austin Hatfield throughout the entire competition. However, he placed 11th on the fourth event, allowing Austin to get a significant lead. Regardless of that, Colten still finished in second place, securing his spot at the CrossFit Games. Both Hatfield and Mertens beat a number of elite athletes, including the reigning Fittest Man on Earth, James Sprague.

  1. Austin Hatfield — 440 points (Qualified)
  2. Colten Mertens — 415 points (Qualified)
  3. Roman Khrennikov — 390 points
  4. James Sprague — 385 points
  5. Jayson Hopper — 355 points
  6. Guilherme Malheiros — 330 points
  7. Jorge Fernandez — 305 points
  8. Nick Mathew — 300 points
  9. George Sterner — 295 points
  10. Luke Parker — 295 points

Women

Feeroozeh Saghafi followed up an exceptional 2nd place in the CrossFit Open with an even more impressive result in the 2025 Mayhem Classic CrossFit Semifinal. She ended up with a total of 400 points after five events, which was enough for her to take home the title and qualify for the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Abigail Domit also had 400 points, which placed her in a tiebreaker against Saghafi. Both women had one event win to their name, but Feeroozeh also had a second-place finish in the first event, while Domit’s next best finish was 3rd in the final workout. So, Domit had to settle for second place overall. She still walked away happy, having qualified for the Games as well.
