The 2025 Official Strongman Games (OSG) European Championships took place on August 2-3 in York, England. It gathered dozens of athletes for each division, resulting in a spectacular battle for the coveted title. So, after all five events were completed and all of the points were added up, Oleg Pylypiak and Donna Moore came out victorious.
Both Oleg Pylypiak and Donna Moore had spectacular appearances at the 2025 Official Strongman Games European Championships. Oleg built up a massive lead during the first portion of the competition, which gave him the luxury of going easier on the final event of the competition. On the other hand, Donna Moore remained consistent throughout the day and officially sealed her win in the final event.

Event One — Deadlift
The first test of strength at the 2025 Official Strongman Games European Championships was the Deadlift for reps. The athletes were given a total of 60 seconds to lock out as many repetitions as possible on an axle barbell setup. The men had to pull 320 kilograms (705.5 pounds), while women lifted 230 kilograms (507.1 pounds).
Men
Being the only man to achieve double digits when it came to reps on the deadlift, Oleg Pylypiak took away the win from event one. Interestingly, four other men were stuck on nine reps in the second-place spot, having to share points. This event went well for Oleg, as he built a substantial lead at the start of the competition.

Event Two — Log Lift
The second event of the 2025 OSG European Championships introduced another iconic Strongman exercise — the Log Lift. Featuring a similar format to the deadlift, the athletes had one minute to achieve the highest number of reps they could. The weight of the men’s Log came out to 150 kilograms (330.7 pounds), with the women’s implement being slightly lighter at 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds).

The Log Lift was an interesting event for the men since the roster was filled with athletes who possessed impressive upper-body strength. The event came down to a tie for first place between Jack Osborn and Marek Czajkowski, as both men completed eight reps with the massive Log. Pylypiak, Funiok, and Bennett were not far behind either, since all of them ended the event on seven reps.

Event Three — Sandbag Toss
As the athletes moved on to the third event of the competition, they were met with a short but explosive test of strength. Specifically, they had to toss five sandbags over a beam, with the weight of the bags progressively increasing. Men’s bags started at 18 kilograms (39.7 pounds) and ended at 28 kilograms (61.7 pounds). On the other hand, the weight of the bags in the women’s division ranged from 12 kilograms (26.5 pounds) to 17 kilograms (37.5 pounds).

The Sandbag Toss proved to be one of the most interesting events of the competition, as the men’s division saw multiple athletes finish within just a couple of seconds of each other. However, there was no match for Jamie Butler, who completed his final toss in a time of 13.87 seconds. Oleg Pylpiak was the next quickest man with a time of 14.26 seconds, while Dawid Pakulski grabbed third with a time that was 2.5 seconds slower.

Event Four — Super Yoke
The penultimate event of the 2025 OSG European Championships was a test of speed while carrying a heavy load. Therefore, the athlete had to pick up a heavy Super Yoke and carry it for a distance of 24 meters. The goal was to cross the finish line in the quickest time possible. The men’s Yoke weighed 420 kilograms (925.9 pounds) and the women’s came out to 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds).

Matyáš Funiok had the quickest feet in the men’s field, getting off to a great start to the race and maintaining an impressive pace across the entire field. His official time came out to 16.65 seconds. On the other hand, Marek Czajkowski was also close to a first-place finish but had to settle for second since he was 0.30 seconds slower than Funiok.

Event Five — Sandbag Steeplechase
For the last event of the 2025 OSG European Championships, the competitors had to carry multiple implements for a total distance of 40 meters before loading them onto the platform, which marked the end of the event. It was a timed test, meaning that the goal was to finish as quickly as possible. The men’s implements weighed 140 kilograms (308.6 pounds), while the women carried 100-kilogram (220.5-pound) sandbags.

Matyáš Funiok found himself at the top of the leaderboards for the second time of the day, winning the Sandbag Steeplechase event. He sprinted up the field, loading the final implement in a time of 32.36 seconds. This proved to be crucial in his charge for second place overall, as he overtook multiple athletes to claim the silver medal.
