The 2025 Sampson Showdown Pro lit up Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, March 29, as 14 of the IFBB Pro League’s top Wellness competitors battled for the coveted Olympia qualification. With no pre-qualified athletes in the lineup, this was a golden opportunity for someone to punch their ticket to the 2025 Mr. Olympia, also set for Las Vegas from October 9-12.
As the Olympia qualification window remains open until September 14, 2025, every win counts—and Kassandra Gillis made hers count in a major way.
Gillis Claims Wellness Gold in a Stacked Field
Coming into the event, Gillis was a top contender to watch. A seasoned competitor, she won the 2023 Wellness International, placed fourth at the 2025 Wellness International, and ranked eighth at the 2024 Wellness Olympia. She also claimed victory at the 2024 Sin City Showdown Pro, making Las Vegas a familiar battleground for the Canadian athlete.
Gillis brought sharp conditioning, flawless proportions, and commanding stage presence—qualities that helped her rise above the rest and secure the top spot at the Sampson Showdown. With this win, she officially qualifies to compete at the 2025 Olympia, where she’ll challenge reigning Wellness Olympia queen, Isabelle Nunes.
Sandra Colorado Acal, who recently placed fifth at the 2025 Wellness International, followed closely behind Gillis to claim second place. Hailing from Spain, Acal previously won the 2023 Pharlabs Battle Bogota Pro and brought notable improvements to the stage.
Nicole Stewart rounded out the top three, with Thais Cappelli and Mari Patrizzi completing the top five. Another highlight of the show was the pro debut of Guadalupe Concepcion Meza Saldana, who recently earned her pro card at the 2024 NPC Amateur Olympia in Las Vegas.
