The 2025 Strongman Champions League World’s Strongest Viking took place on June 28-29 in Joensuu, Finland. It was a grueling two-day competition consisting of nine events. So, all 12 athletes went through an extensive testing process to find out who the best among them was. In the end, Adam Roszkowski was the one who carried the trophy home.

Event One — Truck Pull
The competition weekend started with the Truck Pull, where athletes took on the challenge of moving a 20,000-kilogram (44,092-pound) vehicle. The distance was set to 20 meters, giving the athletes a goal to finish in the shortest time possible.

The battle for first place came down to the wire, with the top two competitors finishing within a fraction of a second of each other. Jesper Hansson was on the winning end of the duel, finishing the event in 53.03 seconds and beating Heikki Pohjonen by the slightest of margins.

Event Two — Wheelbarrow Carry
The athletes continued moving huge weights on the second event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League World’s Strongest Viking. In this instance, they carried a wheelbarrow weighing 450 kilograms (992.1 pounds) over a distance of 25 meters.
Jesper Hansson was once again the quickest athlete in the field, finishing the entire event in just 11.85 seconds. However, similar to the first event, Jesper was closely followed by other athletes, as Evans Nana and Adam Roszkowski were within 0.5 second of him.

The third event shifted the focus towards endurance and perseverance. Precisely, the athletes held out a 30-kilogram (66.1-pound) implement in front of them and tried to hold their arms straight for as long as possible.
Only a handful of athletes managed to exceed the 30-second mark, with Adam Roszkowski securing the winning time of 37.26 seconds. Aivars Šmaukstelis took second with 34.72 seconds, while Andrea Invernizzi rounded up the top three with two seconds less.

Event Four — Sandbag Toss
The fourth event was the Sandbag Toss, requiring explosive strength, speed, and coordination. It consisted of six sandbags ranging in weight from 20-kg (44.1-lb) to 34-kg (75-lb). Each had to be tossed over a beam that was set to a height of 4.30 meters.
Adam Roszkowski secured his second consecutive event win since he was the only man that finished all six sandbag tosses. As for those who tossed five stones, Aivars Šmaukstelis had the quickest time, which earned him the second place. Jesper Hansson was six seconds slower, which put him in third.

Moving over to the fifth event of the competition, it was time to test the grip strength of the athletes. So, the athletes were tasked with holding a 300-kilogram (661.4-pound) load for as long as possible.
Jesper Hansson grabbed his third event win of the competition. He held the implement for 53.85 seconds, thus beating Mika Torro’s time of 49.13 seconds and Kevin Hazeleger’s result of 48.99 seconds.

Event Six — Machine Pull
The 2025 Strongman Champions League World’s Strongest Viking carried on with the sixth event — the Machine Pull. It was an event similar to the first one, but this time it put even more strain on the athletes due to the traction of the vehicle. Consequently, the distance was set to 7 meters.
Kevin Hazeleger utilized his huge frame to the fullest, getting the vehicle moving with relative ease and maintaining the speed across the entire course. His time came out to 33.51 seconds, which was 1 second quicker than Jesper Hansson’s end result.

As the competition was slowly approaching its end, the athletes faced another ruling event in the form of a shield carry. As the name suggests, the athletes carried a 160 kilogram (352.7 pounds) shield shaped implement for a distance of 40 meters.
Jasper Hansson once again proved his prowess in any event that requires moving while carrying heavy loads, crossing the finish line in just 17.97 seconds. However, Adam Roszkowski was not far behind, finishing just 0.11 seconds behind Jasper and showing how versatile his skills are.

Event Eight — Log Lift
The penultimate event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League World’s Strongest Viking was the Log Lift. With the weight set to 140 kilograms (308.6 pounds), the athletes had just one task — lock out as many reps as possible.
Evans Nana topped the leaderboards of the Log Press, showing off his incredible upper body strength and locking out seven repetitions in total. Three other athletes got stuck at six reps, thus tying for second place.

Lastly, the athletes had to complete a Loading Race to conclude their performance at the 2025 Strongman Champions League World’s Strongest Viking. As a result, they had to carry four implements weighing 130 kilograms (286.6 pounds) across a distance of 8 meters each.
All athletes finished the entire event. So, their times were used as a separator. Adam Roszkowski was the fastest man, which gave him the overall and event win. His time came out to 13.14 seconds, which separated him from a number of athletes who were within three seconds of him.
