Not shocking Gabi Garcia easily handles Veronika Futina

Finally, Gabi Garcia is back in action by scoring a win over a smaller-sized opponent. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu specialist choked out Veronika Futina (0-1) in the first round of their bout at Road FC 47 in Beijing on Saturday.

The Russian striker Veronika Futina gave the Brazilian jiu-jitsu star a hard time for the first minute but the next minute, Garcia rattled the Russian MMA debutant with a jab and effortlessly took the fight to the ground, Garcia was completely dominant on the canvas.

This is a much-needed victory for the Gabi Garcia, who was last seen in December when she was set to face 53-year-old Shinobu Kandori, but the fight was canceled after Garcia missed weight by a whopping 28 pounds, tipping the scale at 237 lbs.

This win helps Garcia in rebuilding bridges with fans overseas, while also helping to bolster her in-ring credibility against a comparatively solid opponent.
