Fitness & Bodybuilding, for the most part, is a relatively safe and healthy endeavor. Building up the physique to make a stronger and healthier form is a primary goal of many average individuals. For those wishing to become champions, however, it’s necessary to push the body to limit in order to bring about ultimate gains.

IFBB Pro Kenneth Owens was getting ready to compete at the 2018 Tampa Pro, he was pushing himself hard in preparation and looking to impress the judges and his fans. But after a freak accident that led to the amputation of his index finger, Kenneth Owens is now out of Tampa Pro 2018.

In his recent Instagram post, Kenneth Owens explained the details of the freak accident.

“I had an accident yesterday that left me with an amputated right index finger. I’m blessed because things could have been much worse. I won’t be able to do any pressing or pulling movements for a while so I won’t be participating in the 2018 Tampa Pro. I do want to stress the importance of safety. Making sure you’re taking every necessary step to protect you and everything/everyone in your environment.

Freak accidents can happen in an instant. Please keep me in your prayers for a safe and fast recovery. When I’m able to I’ll be going 150% so there are no excuses. We all have setbacks in this thing called life but how we react shows our true character. “
