It was a bad start to the year for Roelly Winklaar after a disappointing fifth-place finish at the 2019 Arnold Classic USA since he was the obvious favorite to win it all. But he moved on pretty quickly and is now looking ahead while training his butt off to make the necessary changes for the remainder of this year.

He placed third at the Olympia last year and took the Arnold Classic Australia in what was arguably his best year but despite his less than stellar AC performance, he can still make a comeback and finish strong for 2019.

Roelly is making sure he’s up bright and early to train…

Now, many people expect him to place even higher at the 2019 Mr. Olympia competition but he’ll need to be on top of his conditioning to make this happen. Winklaar has one of the best physiques in all of bodybuilding, and can likely steal the top spot at any time if he’s “on”.

Which means he needs to improve quickly because Shawn Rhoden will be looking to defend his Olympia title while the 2019 Arnold Classic winner Brandon Curry is right on his heels. William Bonac is also a big threat as a top 5 guy and if Phil Heath decides to come back for an eight Mr. Olympia title, Winklaar will have his hands more full.

As gifted as Roelly Winklaar is, there’s nothing easy about beating out a bunch of elite athletes on the biggest bodybuilding stage in the World.

But we do wish him the best of luck going into the Arnold Classic Australia and hopefully, he proves the naysayers wrong.
