When it comes to Strongwoman, there are quite a few athletes who have had some impressive success. Even among them, Rhianon Lovelace stands out the most, being one of the most dominant in the history of the sport. Every time that she steps on stage, it is almost a guarantee that some mind-blowing moment will take place. Well, she appeared at the 2023 Official Strongman Games on December 1-3, in West Virginia, where she claimed her third title of World’s Strongest Woman under 64 kilograms (141 pounds).

The Official Strongman Games is a name for a competition that gathers dozens of elite Strongmen and Strongwomen from all weight and age classes. Thus, the winners of all divisions, apart from the Men’s Open, are crowned as the World’s Strongest.

Rhianon Lovelace has already won the competition twice, the first time in 2018 and the second in 2022. So, she came into the competition this year as the defending champion and has now managed to extend her reign.

Rhianon Lovelace’s Full Performance

  • Stand or Submit Press Medley: 4 reps – 39.47 s (Second-Place)
  • Stix and Stone Carry: 31.34 seconds (First-Place)
  • Kabuki Strength Deadlift Ladder: 5 bars – 26.46 s (First-Place)
  • Goruck Survival Challenge: 37.35 seconds (10th-Place)
  • Sandbag Toss: 6 bags – 22.07 s (First-Place)
  • Atlas Stones: 6 stones – 55.49 s (Second-Place)

The first event was what Rhianon Lovelace predicted to be her worst one out of the bunch, and it was a test of shoulder strength. She had to overhead press a 155-pound barbell, 93-pound dumbbell, 177-pound Anchor Yoke, and a 128-pound Block. In the end, it turned out not to be a weakness for her, as she finished in second place.

For the second event, Rhianon Lovelace first had to carry a 450-pound frame for 50 feet. Then, she picked up two stones, one weighing 160 pounds and the other 135 pounds, and carried them for another 25 feet. Rhianon completed both sections of the event in just 31.34 seconds, which earned her the first event win.

The third event of the competition tasked Rhianon Lovelace and her rivals with completing five progressively heavier deadlifts as quickly as possible. The weight increments were: 335-lb / 365-lb / 405-lb / 455-lb / 490-lb. The deadlift is Rhianon’s greatest lift, so she found the event quite comfortable. Consequently, she won the event with a time of 26.46 seconds.

For the fourth event, Rhianon Lovelace put on a 43-pound backpack and carried a 150-pound sand medicine ball, loading it into a sled at the end of the course. She then repeated the action with another 175-pound sandbag before dragging the loaded sled for 50 feet. Unfortunately, this event did not go Rhianon’s way, as she placed 10th in her weight class. However, it did not impact her lead too much, as she built up a huge lead over the first three events.

The second-to-last event that Rhianon Lovelace and the rest of the 64-kilogram weight class performed was the Sandbag Toss. They tossed a total of six bags (2x 20-pound / 2x 25-pound / 2x 30-pound). Rhianon got back to winning ways, as she was one of only three women who completed all six bag tosses. Moreover, she was significantly faster than the other two competitors.

Last, but not least, Rhianon Lovelace took on the Atlas Stone run. She faced six stones ranging from 150 pounds to 275 pounds, and had to load all of them onto a platform as quickly as possible. Rhianon held a steady pace on the Stones, knowing that her lead was already sufficient for the overall victory. However, her time of 55.49 seconds was still enough for a second-place in the event as well.
