UFC 223 continues to pile up with disasters.
UFC 223 is having a rough week. First, Tony Ferguson pull out of UFC 223 card because of his injury and then three fights have been cancelled in the wake of Conor McGregor’s attack on rival fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov’s bus, which left two injured and now featherweight champion Max Holloway been pulled from his scheduled bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov after being deemed medically unfit to compete.
Max Holloway stepped in on short notice to save UFC 223’s main event title fight, with some serious concerns about his massive weight cut. This morning, Max Holloway failed to make it to the weigh-ins and was declared “medically unfit to fight” by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).(Quote Via MMAJunkie)

“With much regret, and after careful review, a joint decision was made between the state athletic commission and the UFC,” Kim Sumbler, the executive director of the NYSAC, told reporters at the official weigh-ins. “We’ve deemed Mr. Holloway medically unfit to attend the scales (to weigh in). No further comments at this time. We apologize.”
The loss of Holloway vs. Nurmagomedov marks the fourth fight to be scratched from UFC 223 over a 48-hour span.

Holloway tweeted out this statement Friday morning.
. @TeamKhabib my brother I want to keep going but they are stopping me. Sorry to your team and the fans. You don’t deserve this. This is number one. Shout outs to you and @Showtimepettis . Give the fans what they deserve
