The biggest week in Strongman is approaching fast, as the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition is set to take place on May 1-5, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It is the most important competition of the season for the majority of Strongman athletes, as its history dates back to nearly five decades. So, as the upcoming edition of the competition approaches, the organizers revealed all of the events that will take place.

The 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition has two stages, the qualifiers and the finals. Firstly, the 30 athletes that are competing are separated into five groups of six, where they take on five events. Then, only the two greatest athletes from each group advance to the finals. The battle continues there, as the Strongmen take on six events in the finals in order to find out who the World’s Strongest Man is.

The events for the 2024 World’s Strongest Man seem very well put together, as the athletes will have to display multiple aspects of strength in order to perform well. So, it will definitely come down to tactics once the qualifying groups are formed, as athletes will have to think about what the strengths and weaknesses of their direct rivals are. Then, once they get to the finals, the athletes will give every last atom of their energy in order to place as high as possible.

Apart from the events, the organizers of the 2024 World’s Strongest Man have also revealed the majority of the lineup. It includes some humongous names including the defending champion, Mitchell Hooper, and the former 2x champion, Tom Stoltman. Moreover, some spots are still available, so there is still room for some more athletes who could play a crucial role in how the situation unwinds.

Unfortunately, some bad news has already struck the competition, Mateusz Kieliszkowski and Martins Licis have withdrawn from the 2024 WSM. Mateusz Kieliszkowski suffered an Achilles tendon injury during training, while Martins Licis decided to miss out on the competition in order to address a long-term sciatica nerve issue.
