The 2024 North America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition took place on July 26-28 in Victoriaville, Canada. It featured a total of 27 competitors across both divisions, with men taking on eight events, while women performed six. Ultimately, after the multi-day competitions concluded, Maxime Boudreault and Inez Carrasquillo were crowned champions.

Day One
Event One — Max Log Lift
The first event of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Man competition was the Max Log Lift. So, the athletes took turns establishing their one rep max on the Log Lift. The winner of the event turned out to be Lucas Hatton, who rarely ever loses an overhead pressing event. He stood alone on top with a lift of 211 kilograms (465 pounds)

Event Two — Sandbag Toss
For the second event of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Man competition, the athletes had to toss eight progressively heavier sandbags over a beam that was 16-ft high. The weight of the sandbags ranged from 45-lb (20-kg) to 70-lb (32-kg).
Maxime Boudreault was the only man in the lineup who managed to complete the entire event. Moreover, he tossed all eight bags in a time of 31.71 seconds, which made it even more impressive. Three other athletes tossed seven sandbags each, but Wesley Dewinsky finished in second with a time of 28.03 seconds.

Event Three — Truck Pull
Moving onto the third event of the competition, the athletes had to pull a 20,000-pound (9,071-kilogram) Truck for a distance of 70- feet. The goal was to cross the finish line in the shortest time possible.
Maxime Boudreault found himself on top of the leaderboards for the second time already, finishing the event in just 21.8 seconds. On the other hand, the battle for second-place came down to just 0.37 seconds, where James Jeffers managed to narrowly beat Tristain Hoath.

Event Four — Atlas Stones
The Atlas Stones wrapped up day one of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Man competition. It consisted of five enormous stones, whose weight ranged from 280-lb (127-kg) to 445-lb (202-kg). Once again, the goal was to finish as many stones as possible in the shortest time possible.
Similar to the second event, Maxime Boudreault was again the only person to finish lifting all of the implements. The final Atlas Stone proved to be too heavy for all the other athletes, but Maxime finished loading it at the 58.83 second mark.

Day Two
Event Five — Deadlift
The opening event on day two of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Man was the Deadlift. Specifically, the athletes had to perform as many reps as possible of the Car Deadlift variation. The weight of the deadlift came out to 775 pounds (351.5 kilograms).
The battle for the win was extremely interesting, as multiple athletes were in contention. Ultimately, two men ended up sharing the top spot, locking out 12 reps each. Those men were Tristain Hoath and Frédérick Rhéaume, with both being Canadian representatives

Event Six — Dumbbell Press
For the sixth event, the athlete had a choice to make. Namely, they had to pick which dumbbell they wanted to lift, with four progressively heavier ones at their disposal. Then, they had to perform as many reps as possible with the dumbbell of their choice. However, even just one rep with the heavier dumbbell beats any number of reps with the lighter one.
Another overhead pressing event brought in another win for Lucas Hatton, whose upper body strength is one of a kind. He was the only man to lift the heaviest dumbbell and even decided to perform two repetitions, establishing his dominance and securing the max points.

Event Seven — Max Wheelbarrow
The penultimate event of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Man competition was the Max Wheelbarrow Carry. It featured quite a unique format, as the athletes performed the carry with progressively heavier wheelbarrows. The goal was to cross 16 feet with each wheelbarrow. However, if they failed with one of the wheelbarrows, that was marked as their final result.
Kevin Faires was the only man to complete the entire event with all of the wheelbarrows. He is known for his incredible grip strength, which secured him the max points once again. Three other athletes managed to complete the lighter wheelbarrows, but the final one was simply too heavy for them.

2024 North America’s Strongest Woman Event Recap
Day One
Event One — Trump Dumbbell
The first event of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Woman competition was the Trump Dumbbell. Featuring the same format as the men’s division, the women had to pick which dumbbell they wanted to lift. Then, they tried to get as many reps as possible with that implement.
Samantha Belliveau was the only woman who opted to lift the heaviest dumbbell and even managed to get three reps with it. So, she claimed the win in a very dominant manner, and could have even done so by exerting much less effort than she did.

Event Two — Max Wheelbarrow
The Max Wheelbarrow event was also exactly the same as the one in the men’s division, with the only difference being the weight of the implement. So, for women, the wheelbarrow started at 560 pounds (254 kilograms), but increased through the rounds and ultimately finished at 740 pounds (336 kilograms).
Gabi Dixson won the event, being the sole individual to complete all wheelbarrows. Her grip strength is unmatched in the world of Strongwoman, which is not surprising considering that she also beat multiple Strongman athletes during a grip event at the World’s Strongest Nation competition.

This event displayed a massive difference between Inez Carrasquillo and the remainder of the lineup. She managed to toss seven of the sandbags over a 16-ft high beam, while the next best woman only achieved five bag tosses.

Having picked up momentum, Inez Carrasquillo sailed to another event victory with ease. She finished loading four stones in just 40.49 seconds, which was 34 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Gabi Dixson.

For the penultimate event of the 2024 North America’s Strongest Woman, the athletes went through multiple rounds, lifting progressively heavier Logs until they established a one-rep-max. In turn, the goal was to lift as much weight as possible.
Inez Carrasquillo easily won the event, being the reigning Log Lift World Record holder. She was practically battling against herself, hoping to set a new World Record. She was unable to achieve it, but she still beat her closest rivals by 23 kilograms (51 pounds).

Wrapping up the 2024 North America’s Strongest Woman competition was the Squat for Reps. As the name indicates, the women tried to get as many repetitions as possible, with a 430-pound (195-kilogram) Squat.
Gabi Dixson decided to put on a show on the last event, locking out 16 repetitions. For reference, the second place finisher locked out 10 repetitions less than her.
