The 2025 CrossFit Games took place on August 1-3 in Albany, New York. The Games featured a number of major changes, including a smaller athlete roster, consisting of 30 men, 30 women, and 20 teams. So, after three days of nonstop action, the Fittest On Earth were officially crowned. Tia-Clair Toomey came out victorious in the women’s division, while Jayson Hopper stood atop the men’s podium.
Tia-Clair Toomey took the lead on day one after two event wins and one surprising 16th place. This led to an uncommon scenario on day two, which saw Tia-Clair lose her lead for a fraction of the competition. It did not take long for her to climb back up to the number one spot, as she never placed lower than fourth in the remainder of the competition. So, she defended her title and was crowned as Fittest Woman On Earth for the eighth time in her career.
Jayson Hopper held the lead in the men’s division for the large part of the 2025 CrossFit Games. However, his mishap on the penultimate event of the competition allowed multiple athletes to get within just a few points of him. So, it all came down to the final event, where Jayson managed to get back to his best, holding off his rivals and taking the overall win.
CrossFit Oslo Kriger won four out of eight events in the team division at the 2025 CrossFit Games. That, along with consistently great results in other events, secured them the top spot. They received the gold medal and became the first team from Europe to win the CrossFit Games.

Men’s Results
Jayson Hopper got better with each event on day one of the 2025 CrossFit Games and crowned it with an event win in the third workout. His time of 5:34.90 was enough to beat all other 29 athletes and came as a result of a strategic and intelligent approach. Having seen that the majority of athletes struggled with their feet slipping on the pegboard, Jayson brought out a towel with him, which he used to wipe the soles of his shoes, thus gaining extra grip.

Surprisingly, Tia-Clair Toomey finished in 16th place, largely due to her struggles on the pegboard.

Team Event 3 Results — Pegboard Climbs
CrossFit Mayhem was dominant in the Pegboard Climb event, with the women getting off to a great start, leaving the men in a great position. So, the pair of two men made sure to maintain a lead of a couple of reps but stopped approximately half a minute before the time limit ran out since they realized that no one would be able to catch up to them. So, in addition to taking the win, CrossFit Mayhem’s approach also allowed them to save energy going into the fourth event.

CrossFit 1124 had the highest number of reps in Event Four after the 10-minute time cap ran out. They moved quickly while performing the Squat Snatch + Overhead Snatch, but also while transitioning to the bar. This may seem neglectable, but their meticulous approach allowed them to perform 95 repetitions, just one more than the CrossFit Oslo Kriger and CrossFit Butcher’s Lab Vanløse. So, even just a few seconds proved to be of immense value.
