The 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition took place on October 10-11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It gathered dozens of world-class athletes and put them through a series of six tests to determine who deserved to get crowned a national champion. Well, Lucas Hatton came out victorious in the men’s division, while Olga Liashchuk stood atop the women’s podium.

Lucas Hatton won three out of six events at the 2025 America’s Strongest Man but also managed to place in the top three across all remaining ones. So, he ended up being the only man with a point tally that exceeded 100 points, making him the clear winner of the competition. Nick Guardione was the only one who managed to put pressure on Hatton, having finished in second place with 98.5 points.

Olga Liashchuk had the most impressive performance across both divisions, securing the title with five out of six event victories. She only failed to win the Vertical Lift but still finished in a remarkable third place, trailing the event winner by just 0.53 seconds. So, Olga finished on 52 points, beating the next best woman by 7.5 points.

Event One — Flintstone Barbell
The first event of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competitions was the Flintstone Barbell. It is best described as an overhead press, where athletes got the chance to pick up the bar from the blocks and then used a variety of techniques to get the weight in a fully locked-out position. The athletes had multiple attempts to establish a one-rep max.

Lucas Hatton is unparalleled in this type of event, as he has mastered the split-jerk technique and also has one of the most powerful shoulders in the world. His heaviest lift came out to 252 kilograms (555 pounds), which put him in a comfortable first place.

Event Two — Deadlift Ladder
The second event of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition was the Deadlift Ladder. It consisted of four barbells ranging in weight from 280-kg (617-lb) to 340-kg (750-lb) for the men and 197-kg (434-lb) to 238-kg (525-lb) for the women. The goal for the athletes was to complete the event in the shortest time possible.

A large part of the men’s lineup managed to complete the entire event, but Lucas Hatton was still the clear winner based on the time he achieved. Lucas needed just 22.69 seconds to lift all four barbells, beating the next best man by nearly four seconds. So, with two wins in the opening two events, Lucas quickly positioned himself as a big favorite for the title.

Event Three — Vertical Lift
The Vertical Lift was the third event of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition. It was an arm-over-arm rope pull attached to a special apparatus that progressively lifted a platform loaded with weights. The exact weight and height for this event are unclear, but the goal was to set the quickest time possible.
Men’s Results
The Vertical Lift proved to be one of the most intense and unpredictable events of the men’s division. Namely, Nick Guardione and Lucas Hatton finished in a near-identical time, as the margin between the two was very difficult to distinguish. In the end, Nick finished in first with a time of 12.75 seconds, while Hatton had to settle for second place, being 0.24 seconds slower.

Similarly to the men’s division, multiple women finished within a fraction of a second of each other. Jackie Rhodes got the event win with a time of 13.11 seconds. Second place went to Nadia Stowers, who finished the task in 13.44 seconds, while Olga Liashchuk wrapped up the top three 0.20 seconds after Nadia.

Event Four — Medley
Going into the second half of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition, the athletes faced the medley for their fourth event. It consisted of two parts. The first one was a Frame Carry, which came out to 340-kg (750-lb) for men and 227-kg (500-lb) for women. The second portion of the event was a Dumbbell press, where men had to lift 100-kg (220.5-lb), while women took on a 54-kg (119-lb) implement.
Men’s Results
Lucas Hatton made easy work of the frame carry and cruised his way to victory on the dumbbell press. He completed seven reps in total, beating Nick Guardione and the remainder of his rivals. So, he increased his overall lead and kept marching toward a title defense.

Event Five — Sandbag Toss
The penultimate event of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition was the Sandbag Toss. The height of the bar was set to 48”, which meant that athletes took turns tossing progressively heavier sandbags until there was only one competitor left standing. The weight of the sandbag was the metric used to rank the results.

Lucas Hatton, Austin Hamm, and Zach Price reached their limit at 33 kilograms (72.5 pounds), which looked like a potential winning number. However, Nick Guardione managed to break away from the pack, successfully tossing a 35-kilogram (77-pound) sandbag over the bar to take the event win.

The last challenge that the athletes had to overcome as a part of the 2025 America’s Strongest Man & Woman competition was the Loading Race. It consisted of three kegs that weighed 159-kg / 170-kg / 181-kg (350.5-lb / 375-lb / 399-lb) for men and 102-kg / 113-kg / 125-kg (225-lb / 249-lb / 275-lb) for women. They had to pick up the kegs, carry them, and finally load them onto their respective platforms.
Men’s Results
Nick Guardione gave it his all in his final performance of the weekend, claiming the event win with a time of 28.15 seconds and hoping to overtake Lucas Hatton on the overall leaderboards. However, Lucas was not far behind Guardione and managed to officially win the 2025 America’s Strongest Man.

Following his incredible victory, Lucas Hatton now has three America’s Strongest Man trophies in his cabinet. This marks one of the highlights of his career so far, along with podium finishes at the Strongest Man on Earth and Arnold Strongman Classic. Most importantly, Lucas proved that he does not have any significant weak points, which is definitely a good sign ahead of his upcoming appearance at the 2025 Rogue Invitational Strongman.
On the other hand, Olga Liashchuk has claimed her second consecutive America’s Strongest Woman title. In addition to that, Olga has also won five international shows during her career, including a gold medal from the 2022 World’s Strongest Woman competition.
