Alba Boström displayed an incredible performance recently at the 2024 World Juniors and Sub-Juniors Classic & Equipped Powerlifting Championships. The competition took place from August 28th to September 9th, bringing in hundreds of exceptional athletes. However, Alba was one of the standout competitors, having set new raw Bench Press and Total IPF Junior World Records to take the gold medal in the Junior U63KG division.
Alba Boström’s Full Performance Overview
Alba Boström had an absolutely perfect outing at the 2024 IPF World Junior Championships, successfully completing all nine of her attempts. This allowed her to take the gold medal with ease, beating the second-place finisher by 59 kilograms (130 pounds). So, it is clear that Alba is ready to take on the Open age class and try to take the throne there as well.
Squat
In order to achieve her dream, Alba Boström knew that she had to start her performance with a decent performance on the squat. So, taking it one attempt at a time, she decided to open up with 177.5 kilograms (391.3 pounds). Since that moved smoothly, Alba increased the weight to 185.5 kilograms (409 pounds) for her second attempt.
Finally, Alba Boström added another 7.5 kilograms (16.5 pounds) for her final attempt, which amounted to 193 kilograms (425.5 pounds). Being such a heavy lift, it was not as easy as the first two, but Alba still managed to lock it out successfully. In turn, she set a new EPF Junior European Record in her respective division.

Bench Press
Moving onto the bench press, Alba Boström was excited to show what she had in the tank, since this event is her greatest strength. So, her opener of 122.5 kilograms (270 pounds) was already enough to absolutely crush all of her rivals, allowing her to focus on more important things. So, Alba moved on to 130 kilograms (286.6 pounds) for her second attempt, inching closer to her ultimate goal.

With one attempt left, Alba Boström’s choice was clear. In order to break the U63KG IPF Junior World Record, she had to load 133.5 kilograms (294.3 pounds). That is exactly what she did, and, having successfully locked out the lift, she managed to break the record.

Carrying a huge lead from the first two events, Alba Boström was not placed under too much pressure, which proved to be beneficial for her on the deadlifts. Consequently, she decided to not go as heavy as possible on the first two attempts but instead just secure the title.
However, Alba loaded 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds) for her final deadlift attempt, which was 7.5 kilograms (16.5 pounds) over her competition PR at the time. Well, seeing how great of a day she was having, there was no way that Alba could miss the attempt. So, as expected, she managed to lock it, which led to an outburst of joy.
