Although Brian Shaw’s Mixed Martial Arts match did raise a lot of interest, it has now been postponed as per his recent YouTube video. So, although he was set to face Martyn Ford, and later on, the winner of the duel between Eddie Hall and Mitchell Hooper, Brian will now have to wait for an indefinite period of time for that to take place.
The 2023 Strongest Man On Earth, Brian Shaw, decided to wrap up his Strongman career and move over to combat sports in his pursuit of becoming the most dangerous man in the world. So, he joined a team of experienced fighters and coaches in order to become a great fighter. While we were supposed to see him display his skills on February 17th, it is now clear that his time to step into the cage will be a bit delayed.

“It looks like the February 17th date for my fight is, at the bare minimum, going to be postponed. Not great news coming out of this meeting. I’m frustrated and pi**ed off because I have been putting so much into this.”
Brian Shaw then went to train once again and shared the news with his colleagues and coaches. Seeing how all of them have watched Brian put his life and soul into improving his skills, it was clear that they all felt compassion for him. When asked if the fight was still going to take place at some point, Brian responded:
“That is what they are saying… At a certain point, we just have to get some answers… I want to do it, I’m ready to do it, I’m training to do it, so let’s do it!!”
Now that Brian Shaw’s trust has been shaken up a bit, he is taking a bit of a different approach. He states that he won’t be fighting unless a “good chunk of what you’re supposed to deliver is delivered”.
After taking some time to think, Brian Shaw decided to sit in front of the cameras again and give his full thoughts about the postponement. He talked about the positive things that happened during his MMA journey, as well as what some of the negatives were.
“My fight officially got postponed. No date has been set for the postponement. As you can imagine, this is hugely disappointing to me due to the fact that for the last five months, I dove in head first, I have committed myself fully to be as prepared as I could be for this fight…
I have to be honest; when I go into anything, I go in 100%. I don’t know how to do it any differently than that, and this is no exception. So, very disappointed, to say the least.
I am also very disappointed because I took and dedicated a lot of time to this, which took time away from my wife, kids, businesses, and everything. I really put a lot of strain on other people around me.
I’m proud of the way that I committed and proud of being committed to this 100%. When things like this happen, you have to take a step back and take a deep breath… Through this process, I got to meet and train with so many awesome individuals…
There is a contract that was involved, and that was the main reason that I was involved… I could have done a lot with that, but a lot of times the beauty is in the journey… I guess time will tell. But, they have got a lot of ground to cover. You have to follow through with contracts, commitments, and what you say.”
