In the land of mystery, what is true and what is false. In order to bust some these CrossFit Myths, let’s take a look at some of the most common things people associate with CrossFit. Also, here is why are not true.

1. CROSSFIT IS ONLY ABOUT COMPETITION

Sure competition is great, but CrossFit is so much more. One of the great things about CrossFit is how easy it is to track your progress. Better score, better times means you are meeting tangible goals in CrossFit.

A big thing about CrossFit is the community. Go to any CrossFit gym and the sense of community among coaches and athletes is real.

2. CROSSFIT IS DANGEROUS

Any form of exercise come with their own risks. In all honesty, any physical activity has injury precautions. CrossFit comes with it’s own risk for injury, just like any sport.

If you learn and practice the techniques of CrossFit in the correct way, you should be fine.

3. IF YOU DO CROSSFIT, YOU CAN’T DO OTHER WORKOUTS

One of the best parts of CrossFit is the variety. CrossFit it what you want it to be. Just because you pick-up CrossFit, it does not mean you leave the rest of your fitness routine behind.

4. CROSSFITTERS DON’T CARE ABOUT FORM

In CrossFit, form is everything. Want to get the most of your workout? Practice good form. Want to avoid injury and general muscles soreness? Practice good form.

Want to improve on your times? You already the know the answer and involves your form.

5. MY GYM DOESN’T DO CROSSFIT

The great thing about CrossFit gyms is they are everywhere. Like the myth above, just because you begin CrossFit, doesn’t mean you have to quit everything else.

Do your research and find a good CrossFit gym near you. Try a free class and judge for yourself.

6. I WILL HAVE TO TRAIN FULL TIME TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS

Slow and steady wins the race. Like any exercise, CrossFit is about what you put into it. Five days a week? Three days a week? Even one day a week with CrossFit you will see improvements.

Everyone and every body is different, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t hit CrossFt 100% of the time, all the time.

7. CROSSFIT IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR OLDER FOLKS

Another CrossFit Myth that is not true. CrossFit really is for all ages. CrossFit’s Masters Divisions consists of 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60 plus age groups.

Any if not all CrossFit Workout of the Days can be modified for your fitness or age level.

8. I’M NOT FIT ENOUGH TO START CROSSFIT YET

There are no minimum fitness requirements to start CrossFit. Also, it is never too late to start CrossFit.

9. CROSSFIT MAKES WOMEN ‘BULKY’

There are a few things CrossFit does for women. Bulky is not one of them. CrossFit makes women fit, strong, and healthy.

This goes back to making your fitness goals clear. Do you want to gain muscle mass and bulk? Then CrossFit can do it. Do you to lean out while adding muscle tone? Cross can do that to.

10. CROSSFIT MAKES MEN SMALL

In conclusion, CrossFit Myths are just that myths. CrossFit making men small, may be the most comical of them all.
