Mark Wahlberg Walks Fans Through A Full Day Of Eating
In addition to a hardcore workout routine, Mark Wahlberg also keeps his nutrition in check as well. In a recent YouTube video, Wahlberg shared what a full day of eating looks like for him.
Mark Wahlberg starts with some vitamins and coffee before his workout and then has a big breakfast when he is finished.
“I got up. I take my vitamins. I drink my water. I have a little zinc dissolvable zinc tablet and then I have a triple espresso. I have my coffee, go in the cold plunge, come out, and then I’ll have my creatine and my branch chain aminos while I’m working out.”
“After the workout, about 45 minutes after the workout, this morning I had five eggs. I had two hard-boiled eggs and three scrambled eggs. I had a pork chop with just a little bit of salt and pepper on it. I had wild smoked salmon, some Greek yogurt, and berries, and then I had a green juice with moranga. That was at 8:00 in the morning.”
Moving into lunch, Wahlberg makes sure to have a variety of protein, vegetables, and fruits. For dinner, Wahlberg planned to have some steak, fish, and vegetables.
“At 11:00, I had chicken breast, chicken thighs, sweet potato, broccoli, a bowl of fruit, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry and then I had a handful of pistachios and a handful of almonds. Then at 2:00, I had a salmon sashimi crab salad with a little cucumber and a couple of pieces of chicken breast.”
“Tonight I’ll have a nice steak, some sea bass or halibut, and some sort of vegetable.”
Wahlberg adds a disclaimer, explaining that he does his best to eat as healthy as possible. He also discusses how he wished he would have listened to the people who tried to teach him how to take care of his diet and health sooner.
“I just try to eat as clean as possible. I’ve had the worst eating habits and I do want to have a little disclaimer here, if I explain my schedule on my eating habit lets not let your imagination run wild and last time I did this it got out of hand and people thought I took an hour and half long shower” Wahlberg adds.
“If I was actually smart I would’ve listened to the people who told me how to do things right a long time ago but I was hard headed and thought I knew everything like most people I talk to know a days when I try to give them advice about eating right, recovering, and training properly. It’s sad that it took me till I was 52 years old to figure this out. If only I would have been doing this long ago I think I’d have another nice little 15 year run at doing more physical movies.”
Mark Wahlberg Talks Diet For His Role In Arthur The King And Cheat Day Meals
Mark Wahlberg’s role in the new movie Arthur The King is about an adventure racer who meets a dog while looking to win the race of a lifetime. With such a sporty role, Wahlberg goes over how his diet changed during his time working on this project.
“You know what? I was on the cleanest program or regime going down to do Arthur. I was cycling and doing lots of stuff training and preparing to hopefully look like an adventure racer months in advance and first day of shooting I torn my meniscus and the only thing that was giving me any comfort was a really tall ice cold jumbo beer at the end of the day.”
“So, my diet went out the window after the first day and I don’t take any type of pain medication or anything, I couldn’t get the surgery so I was like alright after a long hard day of sweating in the jungle the best remedy for me was a couple of cold jumbos.”
Wahlberg shares with his fans what his favorite food smell is and it’s not surprising that the movie star can’t resist the smell of bacon in the morning.
“Breakfast. Bacon, pancakes, sausage, maple syrup, my kids smell like maple syrup, they get a huge and a kiss before school and they smell like maple syrup, that’s pretty good.”
As for a cheat meal, Mark Wahlberg knows how to have a good time, ensuring he has some tequila, chocolate, and lots of pasta.
“As long as I do the cheat meal right this time because what I’m thinking about is okay, I have to have either some tequila and I’ll have chocolate, and I’ll have some other dessert and you know, five different kinds of pasta. After not having anything, and eating clean and I wonder why I don’t feel good the next day.”
“My favorite yeah I like chicken pot pie, a Thanksgiving dinner, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy. Sometimes I walk around in the bakery section and just look and think about all the things I want to eat. But I know if I took one of each and ate them, I would probably not feel so good after.”
Performance and workout results are top priorities of Mark Wahlberg. His longevity and endurance are lauded by his peers, especially those within the fitness community. He recently showcased as much with a grueling late-night workout. Whether he is taxing the upper body or sculpting the lower body, the decorated actor prides himself on never missing a training session.
Mark Wahlberg remains committed to not only his intense workout efforts but also to healthy eating, which can be substantially more challenging given his busy schedule. While he admits his diet isn’t the most glamorous, he prefers to use food as fuel at the age of 52.
“That’s what my diet looks like, boring and repetitive,” adds Wahlberg.
