When performing squats in powerlifting, a person can choose between doing it raw, with knee wraps, or the third option, with a squat suit. So, having conquered the raw and squats with knee wraps, Phillip Herndon has decided to venture out into equipped powerlifting and get himself accustomed to a single-ply squat suit. Moreover, on the first day of receiving his suit, Phillip decided to try it out, and it turned out that he is already capable of lifting more than the All-Time World Record. His heaviest squat came out to 1,045 pounds (474 kilograms), which was displayed on his official Instagram page.
Phillip Herndon first got warmed up, and his final lift reached 935 pounds (424.1 kilograms). However, he then made a huge jump to 1,045 pounds (474 kilograms), especially considering that no one of his bodyweight has squatted that much weight officially. Phillip also used a lifting belt, knee wraps, and wrist wraps. His descent with the weight was slow and controlled, but there was no stopping him once he started squatting back up.
The current U125KG All-Time World Record Squat in a single-ply suit belongs to Anthony Oliveira, who lifted 1,036.1 pounds (470 kilograms) at the 2021 APF Buckeye Bash.

Phillip Herndon also unofficially broke the Raw Squat All-Time World Record in training recently, having locked out a lift of 914 pounds (414.5 kilograms). So, it is clear that his squat strength is mind-blowing regardless of whether he uses any equipment or not.
Phillip Herndon is currently preparing for the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2, which will take place on October 27-29, at the Salisbury Center in Manassas, VA. However, it is currently not clear in which division he will take part.
Less than two months ago, Phillip Herndon became the lightest man to squat 1,000 pounds (453.6 kilograms) with knee wraps in a competition. However, judging by how his recent training session went, Phillip could very well become the lightest person to squat 500 kilograms (1,102.3 pounds) in a single-ply suit.
Phillip Herndon has taken part in 42 sanctioned powerlifting competitions so far, with 28 of those being victories. He has also set countless world records, but more are definitely on the way in the near future.

Just when it seems that Phillip Herndon has reached the limits of what is humanly possible, he comes out with something even more mind-blowing. While he often shares incredible performances in the raw and knee wraps squats, his performance with the single-ply suit came as a massive surprise since it was previously not one of his primary exercises. He managed to unofficially break the world record without much preparation, which just goes to show how amazing he is.
