Rudy Kadlub has been putting up some remarkable lifts in the training room for a few weeks now. Well, the ultimate goal of all those workouts was to transfer the lifts into an actual competition, specifically the 2023 IPL World Championships. As a result, Rudy managed to peak in time for the competition since he set three new IPL Masters (70-74 Years Old) World Records.

Rudy Kadlub’s first IPL Masters World Record came in the squat with wraps event. So, as the division allows, Rudy used a lifting belt, knee wraps, and wrist wraps for his 217.5-kilogram (479.5-pound) squat attempt. Having already felt the same weight in training just days before, Rudy easily completed the lift with a perfect technique.

*Rudy Kadlub held the previous Squat IPL Masters World Record of 210-kg (451.9-lb).

The next IPL Masters (70-74 Years Old) World Record that Rudy Kadlub claimed came during the deadlift event. His heaviest pull ended up being 235 kilograms (518 pounds), which was more than enough to outperform the previous mark. Moreover, Rudy completed the deadlift in a raw fashion, using nothing apart from a lifting belt. His technique consisted of a sumo stance and a mixed grip.

Rudy Kadlub’s Full Performance

Rudy Kadlub’s third and final World Record came in the Total event, where his result came out to 590 kilograms (1,300.7 pounds). Once again, the record that he broke was already held by him. The previous record stood at 578 kilograms (1,274.3 pounds), meaning that Rudy managed to upgrade it significantly.

Moreover, Rudy Kadlub’s 590-kilogram (1,300.7-pound) also marked a new All-Time With Record in the Masters (70-74 Years Old). So, it was not just the heaviest in the IPL, but across all powerlifting federations as well.

  • Squat (Wraps): 217.5 kilograms (479.5 pounds) — U100KG IPL Masters World Record
  • Bench Press (Raw): 137.5 kilograms (303.1 pounds)
  • Deadlift (Raw): 235 kilograms (518.1 pounds) — U100KG IPL Masters World Record
  • Total (Raw W/Wraps): 590 kilograms (1,300.7 pounds) — U100KG All-Time Masters World Record

Rudy Kadlub also got the “best lifter” award for everything that he has achieved at the 2023 IPL World Championships.

This was Rudy Kadlub’s 43rd-sanctioned powerlifting appearance and his 37th victory. Like in most cases, Rudy walked away with some more World Records under his belt. It is now not clear if Rudy will compete again by the end of the year. However, as of January 2024, Rudy will begin competing in the Masters (75-79 Years Old) Age Class. There is no doubt that some more World Records will be awaiting him there as well.
