Compounding all his tips and tricks into one place, Schwarzenegger started a newsletter called Arnold’s Pump Club which also includes a podcast. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s legendary physique earned him seven Mr. Olympia titles during the golden era of bodybuilding. Since then, the 76-year-old has been dedicated to defying the aging process and preserving his youth. To do this, he advocates for a blend of cardio and weight training and emphasizes that routine exercise promotes skin elasticity.
Alongside his passion for maintaining a consistent exercise regimen, Schwarzenegger puts equal focus into adhering to a nourishing diet routine that consists of mainly vegan options. While eating less meat, Schwarzenegger still gets adequate protein and revealed that pea-protein is his favorite over animal-based alternatives.
As an advocate for bettering health and wellness, Arnold Schwarzenegger has called attention to supplement companies making false claims. This is because adding illegal ingredients and failing to provide all the ingredients within the product could cause the consumer harm. Additionally, supplements like fish oil, aren’t as healthy as they seem considering they don’t include the necessary dosage required to reap the full benefits.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Explains The Significance of Resistant Starch and How It Reduces Carb Intake
Adding to his abundant amount of dieting tips, Arnold Schwarzenegger reveals that leftover pasta and rice can have ‘unexpected health benefits’ because of changes to chemical structure.
“This might be one of the most surprising tips Adam has shared with me. Your leftover rice and pasta might be healthier than you think. That’s because cooling starchy foods can give them unexpected health benefits and reduce how many calories they contain.
When rice and pasta are chilled after cooking their chemical structure changes into resistant starch, dietary fiber, and prebiotic that promote a healthy microbiome. This can enhance digestive health and support your immune system” Arnold says.
Arnold Schwarzenegger explains why resistant starch allows you to eat the same amount of food while absorbing fewer calories and carbohydrates.
“Resistant starch appears to bend the law of calories, so your body absorbs approximately half as many calories as regular starch. That is because resistant starch is not completely digested meaning you absorb fewer calories from those food.
So instead of the normal four calories per gram of carbohydrates, you only digest two calories from resistant starch. If you ate 100 grams of carbs from resistant starch, instead of digesting 400 calories you would only digest approximately 200 calories.”

Then, Schwarzenegger explains all of the health benefits of resistant starches like the inclusion of fiber.
“Also resistant starch has less impact on blood sugar levels making it an excellent choice for those aiming to maintain stable blood sugar levels.
Resistant starch can be found in potatoes, less ripe bananas, legumes, whole grains, and cooked and cooled rice or pasta. Plus it gives you extra fiber which can help control your appetite, lower cholesterol, and protect against cardiovascular disease.”
In retirement, Schwarzenegger remains a well of knowledge for the fitness and bodybuilding communities. Recently the former seven-time Olympia champion offered a look into some of his most historic lifts of all time. In a rare and insightful interview, Schwarzenegger disclosed his heaviest PRs ever recorded in the squat, deadlift, and bench press, which are some of the most popular lifts in the community.
With Arnold Schwarzenegger’s experience with nutrition, training, and recovery, his advice serves as an invaluable asset to the bodybuilding community. Even as one of the busiest men in the world, Schwarzenegger always makes sure to give back to his fans.
