“That was me a year ago. Yeah, that was your boy Stephen A. I can’t tell you how bad it I was. Nearly 30 percent body fat. A cholesterol level over 300 and .1 point away from being a full-blown diabetic. And that was after Covid, which damn near killed me” Smith said.
After posting on X, Stephen A. Smith sat down with Gary Brecka where he defended his healthy journey after receiving negative comments regarding his weight loss.
“One of the things that I’ve been telling people throughout the last year or so they’ve watched me, they have seen my transformation, I still have a ways to go. I’m just getting started, I’m not finished, I promise you that.”
Smith reveals just how much weight he has lost, going from a body fat percentage of 29.6 to 10.4, a staggering change.
“I lost a lot of fat. I went from 29.6% down to 10.4%. I was communicating with you the whole time” Smith shared.
However, Smith has had people approach him regarding his weight loss who tried to credit Ozempic or other diet supplements for his incredible transformation but he is setting the record straight that it was all due to his hard work:
“I’ve had people come up to me man, you know, that Ozempic must be good. I’m like I didn’t take that! I’m doing cardio six days a week, weightlifting five days a week, I take my supplements and vitamins, but I’m not doing that.”
“I went from being conniving and slick and trying to avoid the gym to being pissed off that I missed going to the gym.”
Regardless of how the weight is lost, it’s always inspiring to see people aiming to get their lives back on track. Health is wealth and in today’s age, people of all walks of life are doing whatever they can to maintain a fruitful existence.
Weight loss can be an ever-challenging endeavor, which requires patience, brain power, and most of all, determination, something Stephen A. Smith boasts in spades. While some Hollywood actors like Tracy Morgan admit Ozempic might have played a role in their body transformation journey, Stephen A. Smith chalks up all of his success to hard work.
