About Strongman Event Types
Professional strongman competitions draw from over 165 distinct event types, each testing a different facet of raw strength, endurance, and technique. Events range from classic barbell lifts like the deadlift and overhead press to unique implements found nowhere else in strength sports, including atlas stones, log press, and yoke walks.
Event Categories
- Deadlift Variations: Standard barbell, elephant bar, 18-inch deadlift, car deadlift, silver dollar deadlift, and elevated platform pulls
- Overhead Press: Log lift, axle press, Viking press, circus dumbbell, and block press events
- Stones: Atlas stone series, stone loading, stone over bar, and natural stone lifts
