Something went wrong
We couldn't load the GOAT rankings right now. This is usually temporary.
Our GOAT ranking algorithm uses a weighted scoring formula that considers multiple dimensions of strongman achievement:
| Factor | Weight | Description |
|---|---|---|
| WSM Titles | 30% | World's Strongest Man victories -- the most prestigious title in the sport. |
| Arnold Titles | 20% | Arnold Strongman Classic and Arnold Pro wins. |
| International Wins | 20% | Total first-place finishes at international-level competitions. |
| Longevity | 15% | Years of active competition at the international level. |
| Recency | 15% | Recent performances weighted more heavily to account for sport evolution. |
The formula produces a normalized score out of 100. Athletes are ranked by total score with ties broken by WSM wins, then Arnold wins, then total international wins.
About GOAT Rankings
Our Greatest of All Time (GOAT) rankings use a data-driven approach to objectively rank the most accomplished strongman athletes in history. Rather than relying on subjective opinion, we use a weighted scoring algorithm that considers multiple dimensions of achievement. Explore individual profiles in the athlete directory to see full career histories and personal records.
The rankings include both active and retired athletes, with historical data going back to the founding of World's Strongest Man in 1977. Rankings are updated automatically as new competition results are added to our database. View the all-time records these athletes have set, or browse the top-10 lists across specific categories.
Notable Athletes
The men's GOAT list features legends such as Zydrunas Savickas, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Brian Shaw, Magnus Ver Magnusson, and Hafthor Bjornsson. The women's division features rising stars and established champions from the growing women's strongman scene. Use our compare tool to see how any two athletes stack up head-to-head.
