Temur Samkharadze continued to display his improvements at the 2024 EPF European Classic Open Powerlifting Championships, which took place on March 12-17, in Velika Gorica, Croatia. He absolutely dominated every single one of his rivals in the +120-kilogram weight class and became the European Champion. Moreover, Temur broke a mind-blowing amount of records, practically setting new IPF Junior World Records and EPF European Records with each lift that he performed.

Temur Samkharadze’s 2024 EPF European Championships Performance Overview

The Squat is one of Temur Samkharadze’s best lifts, which is evident by the humongous weights that he often moves. So, at the European Championships, Temur decided to open up with a huge 400-kilogram (881.8-pound) squat. Obviously, it moved smooth like butter, so Temur turned to his second attempt.

His second squat attempt came out to 415 kilograms (914.9 pounds) which already marked a new +120KG EPF European Open & Junior Record. He completed it quite easily, not stuttering during any portion of the massive lift despite wearing just a lifting belt and knee sleeves.

With more in the tank, Temur Samkharadze attempted to squat 430 kilograms (948 pounds) on his final attempt, but it turned out to be too big of a jump.
