5 Qualifying Events + 5 Finals Events
Qualifying

Qualifying Group Events

Five groups of athletes compete across these events. Top finishers from each group advance to the finals.

  1. Farmer's Walk / Power Stairs
Combination event - carry heavy implements over distance, then load heavy objects up a staircase under time pressure.
  2. Overhead Circus Medley
Press a series of unconventional implements overhead - circus dumbbell, axle bar, log, and more - as fast as possible.
  3. Squat for Reps
Back squat maximum reps with a fixed weight. Tests leg strength and muscular endurance under a heavy standardized load.
  4. Truck Pull
Pull a heavy vehicle (typically 20+ tonnes) over a set distance using a harness. Fastest time wins.
  5. Natural Stone Medley
Load a series of natural (uncoated) stones of increasing weight onto platforms. Heavier and more unpredictable than atlas stones.
Finals

Finals Events

The top finalists from qualifying battle across five grueling events. Cumulative points determine the World's Strongest Man.

  1. Medley
A multi-implement combination event. Athletes complete a series of strength challenges in sequence - typically a carry, load, and drag combination.
  2. Max Log Press
Athletes attempt a maximum single lift on a wooden log. Increases in weight each round until only one athlete remains - the ultimate test of overhead strength.
  3. Titan's Toss
Throw a 56-pound weight over a horizontal bar for maximum height. A technical event where explosive power and precise timing determine the winner.
  4. Deadlift for Reps
Maximum repetitions on a standard or specialty deadlift bar with a fixed weight. Tests raw pulling power and grip endurance under extreme fatigue.
  5. Atlas Stones
The iconic WSM finale. Load five progressively heavier spherical concrete stones onto platforms of increasing height. First to finish - or most stones loaded - wins.
