The 2023 CrossFit Individual Quarterfinals have begun and are set to take place over three days. Spanning over March 16-19, the Quarterfinals are in an online format, similar to how the CrossFit Open was. However, all five workouts for the Quarterfinals have been revealed immediately at the start, contrary to the workout formatting in the Open. So, the participants already know how much effort to invest in each workout and still remain energized for the next one.

Only the greatest performers from the 2023 CrossFit Open have gone through to the 2023 CrossFit Quarterfinals, and they are now ready to battle for the penultimate stage of the season, the Semifinals. Clearly, this year’s CrossFit Quarterfinals are of the highest importance, since the results here will have a significant impact on the competition’s next phase. As soon as the Quarterfinals are completed, the Worldwide Ranking System will be updated, revealing which athletes are among the best. Consequently, CrossFit will assign a number of qualifying positions in each of the Semifinals based on the strength of the field. In other words, whichever Semifinal features the highest-ranked athletes will also receive more qualifying spots for the 2023 CrossFit Games.

Jeffrey Adler and Mal O’Brien won the 2023 CrossFit Open. So, they will obviously be the favorites for the 2023 CrossFit Quarterfinals as well. However, with five workouts on the repertoire, it will still be a very difficult task, as many other athletes will be aiming to claim the top spot.
