Event Recap
Event One — Log Lift
The first event of the 2024 Shaw Classic forced athletes to perform as many reps as possible by overhead pressing a Log implement. The men had to lift 147 kilograms (324 pounds), while the women performed with 91 kilograms (200 pounds). The time cap for both divisions was 60 seconds.
Tim Buck won the Log Lift event in the men’s division after finding his limit to be eight repetitions. This was a highly impressive result, considering that he had a short time limit. So, he had to perform the reps without barely any rest in between.

The only Australian representative, Nicole Genrich, managed to win the Farmer’s Walk event in the women’s division. She was involved in a tight race against Crawford and Osczevski, but her time of 21.27 seconds turned out to be enough for a first-place finish.

In this event, the athletes had to overhead press a huge dumbbell for as many reps as possible in the 75-second time limit. The men pressed 102 kilograms (225 pounds), while the women lifted 57 kilograms (125 pounds).
Joey Lavallée topped the leaderboards for the second time in the 2024 Shaw Classic, winning the event with five repetitions. Three athletes were close to him, but the fifth rep was what sealed his victory.
