The 2025 CrossFit Games season is approaching quickly, which is why all of the details regarding the qualifying protocol are getting revealed. In turn, the organization came out with some brand-new information recently. Namely, they announced the ‘Last Chance Qualifier’ as another way for the athletes to secure a spot at the Games.

The Last Chance Qualifier for the 2025 CrossFit Games started off as a rumor in the community. However, one of the most successful CrossFit athletes in history, Rich Froning, accidentally leaked the information, which prompted the organizers to give out an announcement of their own.

Well, the Last Chance Qualifier will take place on June 13-16. Dozens of athletes will compete against each other, but only the winners of the men’s and women’s divisions will secure a spot in the CrossFit Games.

“Athletes who narrowly miss a spot at the 2025 CrossFit Games out of Semifinals will have one more chance to make it.“

Check out the announcement here:

The 2025 CrossFit Games Season has seen some massive changes take place. This is mostly in regard to the structure of the qualifying process. Most notably, the Quarterfinals have been completely dismissed, meaning that the season comes down to the CrossFit Open — CrossFit Semifinals — CrossFit Games.

Moreover, the 2025 CrossFit Semifinals are also shaped a bit differently than last year. So, this time the competitors will have a chance to compete in either the in-person Semifinal events or the virtual in-affiliate format. This makes the qualifying process more inclusive for athletes who are unable to attend the in-person competitions for a variety of reasons.

Finally, 30 men and 30 women will move on to the CrossFit Games, which will take place on August 1-3 in Albany, New York. So, apart from changing the location of the Games, the roster of athletes has also been reduced from 40 competitors per division to 30. The Games will also take place across the span of three days, which is shorter than what was usually the case in previous years.

Although it remains to be seen how it works out, it seems that the new structure of qualifying for the 2025 CrossFit Games will make sure to pick out only the best of the best. The last chance qualifier will serve a great purpose in doing so, filling out the final spot at the 2025 CrossFit Games.
