Dallin Pepper was another participant in the Workout 25.3 matchup and is arguably James Sprague’s biggest rival. He pushed Sprague at the 2024 CrossFit Games, but was unable to beat him, thus having to settle for second place. However, Dallin was looking to get his revenge in the final workout of the 2025 CrossFit Open.

Jayson Hopper was the final participant of the matchup, and he was definitely one of the few athletes in the world capable of going against Sprague and Pepper. The 4x CrossFit Games competitor is known for having incredible endurance, which led him to some incredible event wins at the highest level. Jayson placed fourth at last year’s CrossFit Games, which was his best finish yet.

  • Dallin Pepper: 9:21
  • James Sprague: 9:43
  • Jayson Hopper: 9:44
  • Tyson Bagent: 18:31

Despite the time limit being set to 20 minutes, all three athletes finished in less than 10 minutes. Dallin Pepper was by far the best of the three in Workout 25.3, picking up an early lead and only continuing to extend it throughout all parts of the workout. Despite how intense the workout was, Dallin did not slow down for one second, cruising to victory ahead of his two rivals.

Jayson Hopper was trying to follow Pepper’s pace at the start, which is how he managed to build a slight lead over James Sprague. However, Sprague managed to catch up to Hopper in time for the final 50-calorie row, where he also managed to get ahead. So, the reigning CrossFit Games champion secured a second-place finish, while Hopper had to settle for third in Workout 25.3.

Tyson Bagent was a special guest for the announcement of Workout 25.3. Best known as a football quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the NFL, Tyson also put up an incredible performance at the 2025 CrossFit Open Workout 25.3. He finished in a time of 18:31, showing that he is one of the fittest pro footballers in the world.
