Event One — Husafell Stone

The opening event of the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic was the Husafell Stone Carry. As the name indicates, the athletes had to pick up and carry the 186-kilogram (410-pound) stone. The goal was to cover the maximum distance possible without dropping the implement to the ground.

Levi Strong started off incredibly well, having achieved the longest Husafell Stone Carry with a distance of 88.20 meters. While a lot of incredible athletes were present at the competition, Levi was a level above everyone in the first event of the competition. Event Two — Stone Over Bar

The second event of the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic was the Stone Over Bar. In this event, the athletes faced a series of natural stones, which were not only incredibly heavy but also shaped awkwardly, which made the task significantly more challenging. The goal was to finish the stone run, or load as many as possible, quicker than anyone else.

Levi Strong went two-for-two at the start of the competition, winning the second event in a row. He was the only man who loaded 5 stones, showcasing great power and the ability to adapt to any challenge he faces. Others tried to get the fifth stone over the bar but simply could not do it. Event Three — Block Press

The 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic continued with the Block Press. The event featured four block-shaped implements weighing 100-kg (220.5-lb), 110-kg (242.5-lb), 120-kg (264.5-lb), 130-kg (286.6-lb). The athletes had to pick all of them up from the floor before pressing it above their heads. It was a timed event, prompting the athletes to move as quickly as possible.

Only two men finished the entire event and the battle between them proved to be epic. Jordan Osborne came out victorious, finishing in a time of 45.51 seconds. He beat Lucas Hatton by five seconds to add 12 points to his tally. This was one of his greatest moments of the weekend, especially since it played a crucial role in his chase for a podium finish overall.

Event Four — Loading Race

The fourth event of the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic was truly unique, as the Loading Race got an interesting twist, as the athletes performed the event in a pool. So, they had to carry two implements of unknown weight through a pool and finally lift / load them onto the pool wall. The quickest to carry and take out the implements from the pool took the win.

Some athletes resorted to swimming, while others walked through the pool in an attempt to get to the implements as quickly as possible. This resulted in some insanely close results, as the top two athletes were separated by just 0.52 seconds. It was Kristján Níelsson who beat Max Boudreault to top the rankings, while Jordan Osborne beat Levi Strong by a margin of 0.11 seconds to place third.

Event Five — Deadlift

The Deadlift was the fifth event of the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic. Although there are many variations of this event, in this instance, the athletes had to pull 330 kilograms (727.5 pounds) for as many reps as possible within the given time limit.

Lucas Hatton came straight from the 2025 Rogue Invitational but still put in an incredible performance at the Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic. He locked out six repetitions in the deadlift event, and that turned out to be enough to take the win. Levi Strong finished just one rep short of Hatton and secured some more valuable points in his charge for the title.

  • Lucas Hatton — 6 reps
  • Levi Strong — 5 reps
  • Jordan Osborne — 3 reps
  • Nick Wortham — 2 reps
  • Dawid Pakulski — 2 reps
  • Justin Legere — 2 reps

Event Six — Vertical Lift

The athletes had to perform the Vertical Lift in the sixth event of the competition. It was an arm-over-arm rope pull, where athletes had to lift an implement of unknown weight to the top of the platform. It tested grip strength, endurance, and speed, as only a combination of all three elements allowed the competitors to get a good score.

Vilius Jokužys crushed his rivals, finishing the event in a staggering time of just 17.72 seconds. For reference, Kristján Níelsson was the next best man but finished five seconds after Villius. Dawid Pakulski had the third-quickest time of 24.19 seconds.

  • Chris Beetham — 3 in 26.26 seconds

Event Seven — Weight Throw

The penultimate test for the competitors at the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic was the Weight Throw. Specifically, the athletes had to toss a series of sandbags over a beam while making sure to finish with the quickest time possible. In doing so, the men had to display great throwing technique, agility in transitions, and definitely tremendous power as well.

The Weight Throw is an event in which Maxime Boudreault is capable of going up against any Strongman in the world. So, it wasn’t surprising to see him top the leaderboards with a time of 26.80 seconds. The second-place finisher, Palmi Gudfinnsson, was 10 seconds slower than Max, while the third quickest man, Levi Strong, finished an additional 13 seconds later.

  • Max Boudreault — 26.80 seconds
  • Palmi Gudfinnsson — 36.32 seconds
  • Levi Strong — 49.28 seconds
  • Dawid Pakulski — 7 in 23.29 seconds
  • Vilius Jokužys — 7 in 26.39 seconds
  • Nick Wortham — 7 in 34.30 seconds
  • Lucas Hatton — 7 in 34.60 seconds
  • Justin Legere — 7 in 40.20 seconds
  • Chris Beetham — 6 in 27.12 seconds
  • Jordan Osborne — 6 in 35.95 seconds
  • Kristófer Elíasson — 6 in 57.02 seconds
  • Kristján Níelsson — 5 in 22.43 seconds

Event Eight — Log Medley

The final challenge that the athletes had to overcome in Iceland was the Log Medley. It consisted of four logs that progressively increased in weight. It was also a timed event, meaning that time served as a tiebreaker for those who achieved the same number of lifts.

Lucas Hatton is arguably the strongest overhead presser in the world, and he made sure to prove it at the Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic. He locked out all four lifts with ease, needing just 30.65 seconds to do so. However, with the conclusion of the Log Medley, Levi Strong was crowned the overall champion as well.

  • Lucas Hatton — 4 in 30.65 seconds
  • Nick Wortham — 4 in 48.63 seconds
  • Jordan Osborne — 3 in 22.40 seconds

Levi Strong is a pretty new figure at the top level of Strongman, as he gradually progressed through lower levels and qualified for the 2025 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic. So, the recent victory is clearly his greatest success so far but also shows that he has the potential to chase other coveted titles in the future as well.
