The 2025 Northern California Classic was the last in-person CrossFit Semifinal competition of the season. It took place on June 6-8 in Sacramento and presented some of the most unusual event formats seen this year. Following a three-day clash between nearly a hundred athletes, William Leahy and Alex Gazan were crowned winners of the competition.
The 2025 Northern California Classic CrossFit Semifinal was a thrilling weekend full of action. However, only the top two finishers in each of the two divisions. That made the athletes push even harder, resulting in some truly incredible performances.
2025 Northern California Classic CrossFit Semifinal Results
Men
William Leahy grabbed the first out of two qualifying spots at the 2025 Northern California Classic by winning the entire competition. He won two events, but also never placed lower than tenth in any other workout. William has never appeared at the CrossFit Games before, which means that he is set to make his debut later this year.
Jorge Fernandez and Nate Ackermann tied for second place at the 2025 Northern California Classic CrossFit Semifinal. So, to determine who gets the ticket for the CrossFit Games, the organizers turned to the tiebreaker. Jorge ended up being the one to qualify, as he had one event win at the competition, while Ackermann did not. Fernandez has taken part in three CrossFit Games in the Teams division but will now be making his debut as an individual.

Women
Alex Gazan has been one of the fittest women on earth in the past two seasons, as seen by her incredible results at the CrossFit Games. So, she made sure to punch her ticket for the prestigious competition this year as well. She did so by winning the 2025 Northern California Classic. Gazan won two events at the competition and consistently placed near the top of the leaderboards throughout the majority of the competition. She will be making her fourth appearance at the CrossFit Games this year.
Hattie Kanyo beat Carolyne Prevost by just 1.5 points to grab the only other qualifying spot at the Northern California Classic. She made her debut at the Games last year with an impressive 18th-place. So, she will be looking to improve on that this year.
