The 2025 Strongman Champions League (SCL) World’s Strongest Latino marked the eighth stage of the and it took place on August 2nd in Portugal. The one-day competition consisted of five events while also featuring 12 incredible Strongman athletes. In the end, Andrea Invernizzi stood atop the podium and won the coveted title.
Andrea Invernizzi did not place lower than second in any of the first four events of the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino. So, he built up a massive lead going into the final event. This allowed him to take a sixth-place finish to wrap up the competition and still win with a five-point margin.

Event One — Truck Pull
The first event of the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino was the Truck Pull. As the name indicates, the athletes had to pull a 15,000-kilogram (33,069-pound) vehicle for a distance of 20 meters. This was a timed event, setting a goal for the athletes to finish as quickly as possible.

Juan Ferrer was the first person to cross the finish line, doing so in a time of 31.37 seconds. The Spanish representative got the vehicle moving very quickly and only continued to pick up speed in the remainder of his performance. So, Juan secured 12 points and took the lead early on.
Juan’s victory did not come easily, as two other men were on his heels. Andrea Invernizzi finished the test just 0.60 seconds after Juan, which put him in second place. Moreover, Gianluca Ardenghi was also just 0.22 seconds slower than Invernizzi, showing just how intense the race was.

Event Two — Deadlift
The second event of the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino also included a vehicle, but this time in the form of a Car Deadlift. The cars were loaded onto a platform, while the athletes had to lift one end of it in the form of a deadlift. Being an unusual event, the weight that the athletes had to pull was unknown. The aim of the event was to perform as many reps as possible.
Multiple athletes demonstrated incredible pulling power, but Uriel Gutierrez was the most spectacular out of all. He was the only man who achieved double-digit repetitions, lifting the car ten times to win the event.
Andrea Invernizzi found himself in second place once again, securing valuable points once again and showing off remarkable consistency. He finished the event with a total of eight repetitions to beat the rest. Gianluca Ardenghi wrapped up the top three once more with seven reps to his name.

Event Three — Log Lift
The Log Lift is one of the staples in the sport of Strongman, which is why it found its place at the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino. The weight of the log came out to 140 kilograms (308.6 pounds). The task was practically the same as it was for the deadlift, since athletes had 60 seconds to achieve as many reps as possible.
Uriel Gutierrez topped the leaderboards once again with six successful repetitions. However, two other people joined him in the first spot, as all of them achieved the same number of repetitions. Those athletes were Andrea Invernizzi and Flavio Nunes, meaning that each of the three athletes received 11 points.

Event Four — Bag Toss
The second-to-last event of the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino was the Bag Toss. It consisted of five sandbags, starting at 20 kilograms (44.1 pounds) and increasing in 2-kilogram (4.4-pound) increments with each following one. So, the weight of the final sandbag came out to 28 kilograms (61.7 pounds). Being a timed event, the athletes raced to finish all five bag tosses.
After multiple second-place finishes and ties for first place, Andrea Invernizzi finally stood alone at the top of the leaderboards. In order to do so, he tossed all five stones in just 20.03 seconds, showcasing impressive speed on the throw and the transitions.
While Andrea Invernizzi was far ahead of the pack, the battle for second place came down to the wire. Alexandre Hulin and Uriel Gutierrez were involved in an exciting race, with Hulin coming out on top by a margin of just 0.3 seconds. So, Gutierrez had to settle for third place.

Event Five — Medley
The final event of the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino consisted of multiple elements. It started off with a 380-kilogram (837.8-pound) Super Yoke carry, followed by a 150-kilogram (330.7-pound) Husafell Carry. Lastly, the athletes performed a 220-kilogram (485-pound) Chain drag. Each of the segments had to be performed for a distance of 10 meters.
All 12 athletes finished the entire event, meaning that the rankings were based on the time needed to complete the event. Gianluca Ardenghi was the best in this aspect, crossing the finish line at the 23.5-second mark. This event win proved to be crucial in his charge for the silver medal overall.
Flavio Nunes was the second quickest, coming in with a time of 24.3 seconds, followed by Alexandre Hulin at 25.66 seconds. Most notably, Andrea Invernizzi came in sixth place but officially took the overall win.

Andrea Invernizzi has taken part in nearly all stages of this year’s Strongman Champions League, often battling for podium finishes but never managing to break through into the top three. Well, that changed at the 2025 SCL World’s Strongest Latino, as Andrea won the competition convincingly. So, he now boasts two victories in 27 international appearances that he made.
