The 2025 Strongman Champions League USA took place on August 19-20 in Sandusky, Ohio. It was the 12th stage of this year’s SCL season and it featured a total of 13 athletes who battled across seven events. The competition featured a nail-biting finish, since Tristain Hoath emerged victorious following a tiebreaker.
The 2025 Strongman Champions League USA turned out to be one of the most unpredictable competitions of the season so far, as the top six athletes were separated by only six points. In the end, Tristain Hoath and Nick Wortham stood atop the leaderboards since both had 75.5 points to their name. However, Hoath walked away with the trophy, having won two events at the competition, including the Atlas Stones.

Event One — Construction Medley
For the first event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League USA, the athletes had to complete multiple tasks, including carrying, loading, and more. They faced five implements of undisclosed weight and aimed to cross the finish line with the quickest time possible.

Wesley Derwinsky took the win in the opening event of the competition by narrowly beating Patrick Eibel. Derwinsky finished the event in 58.38 seconds, while Eibel crossed the line less than one second later. CJ Allen got third with a time of 61.69 seconds.

Event Two — Front Hold
Moving on to the second event of the competition, the athletes had to pick up a 55-kilogram (121.3-pound) keg and hold it for as long as possible. So, the event was a test of strength but also endurance under a heavy load.
Andrea Invernizzi recorded the longest time out of all 13 athletes, nearly achieving a minute-long hold. He fell just 2.2 seconds short of the milestone, dropping the implement at exactly 57.81 seconds. Nick Wortham put in a great effort, locking in a time of 57.10 seconds.

Event Three — Keg Toss
The 2025 Strongman Champions League USA continued with the Keg Toss. So, the athletes had to toss six kegs ranging in weight from 45-kg (99.2-lb) to 75-kg (165.4-lb) over a beam. It was a timed event, prompting the athlete to move as quickly as possible in an effort to finish before their rivals.
Wesley Derwinsky was the only athlete who managed to finish the event, as the final few kegs were incredibly heavy. Tristain Hoath grabbed second place by finishing five keg tosses in 32 seconds, while Brian Kichton placed third with four kegs in 23 seconds.

Event Four — Ferry Pull
The fourth event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League USA was quite unique, as the athletes had to pull a 27,000-lb (12,247-kg) Ferry. They were given a 90-second time limit to pull the boat 20 meters, but each athlete aimed to finish the task in less time with the goal of taking the win.
Wesley Derwinsky found himself on top of the leaderboards once again. He put on a show for the spectators and completed the Ferry Pull in 78.35 seconds. Kevin Hazeleger was three seconds slower than Wesley, which earned him an impressive second place. Brian Kichton attempted to beat Hazeleger, but ended up being half a second slower.

Event Five — Truck Pull
The athletes moved on to another pulling event, but in this instance, they faced a 35,000-pound (15,875-kg) truck. The distance was set to 20 meters once again, but the time limit was cut down, as it was expected to be a much quicker event.
The winning time came out to 34.94 seconds, and it was Patrick Eibel who set it. So, he walked away with an event win ahead of the second-place finisher, Nick Wortham, who was just 0.7 seconds slower. Kevin Hazeleger finished one additional second later and rounded out the top three.

Event Six — Deadlift
The sixth event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League USA prompted the athletes to perform an 880-pound (399.2-kilogram) Deadlift for as many reps as possible. They were allowed to use lifting straps to perform the event, along with a total of 60 seconds to set a score.
Patrick Eibel and Tristain Hoath both finished the event on nine reps, which placed them in a two-way tie for first place. They were a level above everyone else, as the third-place finisher, Wesley Derwinsky, earned his spot with a total of seven repetitions.

Event Seven — Atlas Stones
The 2025 Strongman Champions League USA concluded with the Atlas Stones. The competitors had to lift five stones, starting at 120 kilograms (264.6 pounds) and finishing at 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds). The time limit for the event was 90 seconds, but athletes rushed to load the final stone and set a winning time.
Tristain Hoath won the final event of the 2025 Strongman Champions League USA, which also secured him the overall win. He loaded all five stones in just 36.28 seconds, while his biggest rival in the overall standings, Nick Wortham, needed 47.53 seconds to complete the task.

He came out victorious at the 2023 Magnus Ver Magnusson Strongman Classic, the 2025 Canada’s Strongest Man, and two stages of the Strongman Champions League. Tristain often makes an appearance at the biggest competitions of the season, never failing to challenge the best in the world.
