Some Strongman fans who have been following the WSM for a long time might notice a difference in the qualifying stage of the competition. Specifically, the infamous Stone-Off is not listed as a part of the competition. The Stone-Off brought a lot of controversy over the years, as it sometimes disproportionately rewarded the athlete who was better skilled in stone lifting, despite the performances in previous events.

On the other hand, the set of qualifying events for the 2025 World’s Strongest Man competition features some interesting challenges. There don’t seem to be any events that will be too heavy for the athletes, which should allow them to come into the finals more energized and ready to battle.

The qualifiers at the 2025 WSM will feature three Medley events, indicating that moving quickly will play a big role. However, it will also not neglect the strength aspect, as the implements will undoubtedly be set at a challenging weight. Moreover, the qualifiers will feature one of Strongman’s staple events in the form of a deadlift for reps, as well as a new task called the ‘Titan’s Toss’.

Following the assumption that the 2025 World’s Strongest Man follows the same format as in previous years, the qualifiers will be divided into five groups of six athletes. From there, once all five events conclude, the top two ranking athletes from each group will move on to the finals.

The upcoming month will only continue to build hype for the 2025 World’s Strongest Man, as the events for the finals and the full lineup are yet to be revealed. However, there is no doubt that they will also meet the expectations, which should result in an incredible experience for both the athletes and fans.

An exciting battle is expected between multiple WSM champions, such as Tom Stoltman and Mitchell Hooper, but also some athletes who are excited to stand on top of the podium for the first time. Moreover, Hafthor Bjornsson has talked about the potential of his return to the WSM, which further fuels the anticipation for the competition.
