Event Overview

Event One — Deadlift Ladder

The opening event of the 2026 Rogue Invitational Strongman & Strongwoman competition tasked the athletes with completing a Deadlift Ladder. Consequently, the competitors had to lift a series of progressively heavier loaded barbells in rapid succession within a strict time limit. The athletes performed as many reps as possible once they reached the final barbell.

Strongman Results

Martins Licis has been working exceptionally hard to make his way back to the competitive stage but has also been very patient. It has clearly paid off very well, as he won the opening event of the 2026 Rogue Invitational. He was one of three athletes to complete six repetitions, but was the fastest out of all.

The former WSM champion, Rayno Nel, also had a very decent start to the competition, having placed second in the Deadlift Ladder. He was followed closely by Paddy Haynes, who, despite being one of the lightest professional Strongman, showcased incredible strength and endurance.

Strongwoman Results

Lucy Underdown put on an absolute clinic in event one at the 2026 Rogue Invitational. Going out first in the order meant she had zero reference points to work with, but she just kept pulling until she hit a massive 13 reps. It was way more than enough to lock up the win and remind everyone why she’s the undisputed deadlift queen.

Angelica Jardine and Jennifer Lyle both put up serious fights, tying for second place with 9 reps each. However, Lyle locked in the quicker time, gaining the edge in the tiebreaker.

  • Lucy Underdown — 13 reps in 01:28.00
  • Jennifer Lyle — 9 reps in 01:18.81
  • Angelica Jardine — 9 reps in 01:28.56
  • Andrea Thompson — 7 reps in 01:15.52
  • Grace Hilbourne — 7 reps in 01:27.00
  • Rebecca Roberts — 6 reps in 01:30.00
  • Jackie Osczevski — 4 reps in 00:57.90
  • Inez Carrasquillo — 3 reps in 00:28.06
  • Katie Blunden — 1 rep in 00:14.28

Event Two — Viking Press

Moving on to the second event of the day, the athletes press a weighted apparatus overhead repeatedly from a standing position for the maximum number of repetitions. This test evaluates raw shoulder strength, lockouts, and overhead endurance, while also forcing the athletes to maintain perfect technique.

Day one of the 2026 Rogue Invitational Strongman & Strongwoman competition concludes with the Conan’s Wheel event. So, the competitors are tasked with lifting a heavy, pivoting apparatus up to their chest and walking it in a circle with the aim of achieving the maximum distance possible. Conan’s Wheel is recognized as one of the most painful and difficult events ever seen in the sport, requiring tremendous core stability, stamina, and mental fortitude.
