Shots Fired! Dorian Yates is not impressed.

The 6 times Mr. Olympia “The Shadow” Dorian Yates is one of the most iconic bodybuilders from the 90s. He was absolutely massive & shredded. Yates was known as “The Shadow” because all other bodybuilders had to live in his shadow during his prime over 6 Mr. Olympia wins.

He was the man who took the bodybuilding to the new heights by creating a mass monster aesthetics. He kept pushing the boundaries. He kept winning. And each year’s revealed physique and continued to shock and awe.

In Yates’ time competing at the pro-levels of bodybuilding was a very different story than what you see today. Winning an IFBB pro card only with a crowning achievement, one achieved through consistent hard work and determination to truly be the best of the best.

Now a days pro cards are given to a great many bodybuilders in a host of different categories, something that was unthinkable back in the day. Like Dorian Yates explain in the recent Instagram post:

“Winning overall British Champs in 88 to earn my pro card.”

“In those days only 1 pro card per year was given to an overall winner so they seemed valuable ..now they hand them out like sweeties ..Lol”

Are pro cards given out too easily, do you agree with Dorian Yates?
