Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov Set For UFC 229
The former UFC champion Conor McGregor is back and will face the lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 on Oct. 6 in Las Vegas.
The surprise announcement turned out to be the climax of UFC’s 25th-anniversary Press Conference in Los Angeles, held today. Initially, Dana White told media members the fight was close but not done in order to protect the announcement, both fighters weren’t present at the event.

Earlier today McGregor tipped the announcement when he made a cryptic video tweet of himself laughing just before this news conference:

Nate Diaz storms out of the press conference
Well, as far as Nate Diaz is concerned, he wasn’t happy at all about the surprise fight announcement at the news conference. Diaz stormed out the stage during the fight promo that revealed McGregor’s comeback against Nurmagomedov,

Outside the press conference, a very upset Diaz was caught on camera, stating that:
UFC “better start acting right” and promote him.

Conor McGregor lost to Nate Diaz in their welterweight bout at UFC 196 in 2016 and their rematch five months later broke the promotion’s record for PPV buys.
