Larry Wheels isn’t the only one breaking personal records!

For several weeks now, Hafthor Bjornsson has been training Larry Wheels to compete in Strongman competition. But “Thor” still has to train his butt off too and his hard work is paying off with a new 950+ lb deadlift which was a personal record for him.

He did perform the lift with an elephant bar which some say allows heavier lifts to become easier but we won’t get too deep into the discussion.

Bjornsson is the current “World’s Strongest Man” and “Arnold Strongman Classic” champion, winning both competitions in 2018. However, 2019 is looking even better for “Thor” as he’s in his prime and just getting started (He’s a force to be reckoned with).

A YouTube video was posted of Bjornsson and Larry doing a deadlift session while chatting before Bjornsson hit his deadlift pr…

“So guys this is actually a pr for me for two reps so I’m super excited for this, it’s always good to do a pr especially when you have a guy like Larry Wheels here… the pr guy!”

 Watch below:

After the pr, Wheels asked Bjornsson how he felt when successfully completing the deadlift…

“I feel super super good, I’m super pleased. This was a very important training session and I’m super pleased that it was a 100% success”.

Bjornsson says things are looking pretty good for him and that he’s approaching his best shape ever. The Arnold Strongman Classic is approaching and if he can win again, it would be an incredible feat. He also explains how he cannot peak all year long but he will when he needs to if he trains properly.

“It’s all about peaking at the right time, you know. I build up training programs with my coach Sebasian Oreb and we work together and it’s all about peaking at the right time. I can’t be this strong year round. But I train that way I’ll be at my strongest when I need to be”.

Hopefully, Hafthor Bjornsson can be at his best for the Arnold Strongman Classic because a repeat would be incredible for his legacy. But seeing as how he’s currently progressing, that seems like a real possibility. After all, he is in his best shape ever!
